I had a dog that went blind like that…he lived a lot more years…we barricaded the deck to guide him to the ramp. He adjusted very well. He was my inspiration how he adjusted and loved life…I still miss him.

Aw Ella! Dogs are resilient. And they receive so much information from their other senses. With your love and support I have no doubt she'll continue to live a great life. 2022 really has been a year for y'all! Happiest of holidays, and much joy and good health in 2023. 🐶

I’m so sorry little Ella received the SARDS diagnosis. This actually brought tears to my eyes so I know it was heart wrenching for both of you. One thing I know for sure - any dog who is lucky enough to live with you enjoys a great life, and Ella will continue to do just that. Merry Christmas to both of you and your sweet fur-pack. Our beloved Beagle developed sudden cataracts ~ at 5 years old. We gave him surgery in both eyes and spent another 5 years monitoring him for pressure spikes for glaucoma. So many meds with special dosages! He was always a trooper. Dogs never complain! Eventually he lost his sight in one eye and then then the next to glaucoma and we lost him at age 12. UGH … between you two and Piper and Scout Ella will live out her best life with you all. I love your blog for so many reasons. Thank you for sharing your adventures.

2022 was also a rollercoaster ride here. We are currently unable to go outside due to a very severe blizzard. Thanks for a bit of entertainment while we wait it out. The pig snoring was epic! 🤣 Glad that Ella has you and that you at least know what is happening. We finally figured out last year that one of our cats is deaf. It made his behavior over the years make so much more sense. Hope you have a very Merry Christmas! 🎄 -Troy & Aimee

One of my dogs lost his vision due to optic neuritis. I was told he would adjust; however, I didn’t believe it until I saw it for myself. Like so many blind dogs he adjusted and lived a full life. Wishing and believing the same for Ella.

So sorry to learn about Ella’s loss of vision. I am an animal lover like Katelyn and my heart goes out to you both. Like others have statedf in the comments, I also had two dogs that went blind for different reasons. But, it was amazing how they both adjusted and lived great lives! Although they are both gone now (one just a few months ago and her birthday is Christmas Day and would be 13) she was an amazing dog and was so high spirited to the end even being blind. It never stopped her at all! You are both incredible "parents" to your dogs! Have a great holiday and Happy New Year! Can not wait to hear about the new RV!

I'm so sorry about Ella's blindness. Our Chihuahua, Dylan, has seizures and during one of them, he damaged his lenses some how. He had tenable depth perception, but we noticed that he would follow our other dog, Dweezel, up and down stairs and arround the house, till he was comfortable. Now, he would forget from time to time and jump on our bed and hit the side of the nlmatress. He did the same with the couch from time to time. He is now almost completely blind and we no longer have Dweeze to guide him, but he does very well, as long as there is enough light to see the stairs from our bed. He has total night blindness. He let's his nose and ears guide him. I'm sure Ella's will be the same in her new home and will still love the adventures. She is probably very comforted by her sisters and uses them as guide dogs. you guys have no idea the amazing things to come. My Hap lost her vision due to diabetes and cataracts. she amazed me every day. i took her on many trips All i had to say was "Get in the truck" and she would find the truck, and then circle the truck to find the door in front of the diesel fill tube and hop up into her spot. It was amazing. Miss that doggin's.

If you get up to the Lodi area, Consumnes River Farm has incredible olive oils & vinegars! Awww poor Ella - she has such a sweet face. Dogs are definitely resilient and she will have a great quality of life with you!

We live in the next town South of Temecula, Escondido. 😮The Temecula 😅olive company makes outstanding fresh products!!! We have been camping monthly for the past 2.5 years, at the Camp Pendleton San Onfre campground. It is right on the beach and the weather is always great. Southern CA has Beautiful camping!! Sorry to hear about your dog. Our Molly dog was blind and dead. One time while we were loading the fifth wheel, and we weren’t watching close enough, she walked out the door and fell three feet and landed on her back. She was ok.

Love the snoring pig 🐷 Can’t wait to see the new Rv reveal, I think I know 🤔😂 We had a dog go blind from cataracts and he did fine. He just relied on us a lot and he would also bump into things. Our current dog is loosing her hearing. That’s not as big of a deal as eyes though. She will be with us in Tampa as she’s a service dog and now an elderly service dog. Great video 👍🏼

OH YOU GUYS! You were two miles (“as the crow flies”) from our house! We camped there at Crystal Cove, actually while it was still pretty new. Beautiful area…in fact you are sooooo lucky to have snaggled a campsite in ANY of CA State Parks! They always fill-up right away from the official reservation date. Don’t know what you were charged, but $70.00 a night was pretty steep for us back then! I can’t tell you how sorry I am to hear about Ella. That sounds like the same type symptoms humans get when they get a detached retina! Although if caught immediately, 95% can be corrected with surgery. I’m heartbroken that Ella can’t be helped with some sort of procedure...HOWEVER, exactly like you said, she has seen and experienced so much more in her little doggie life than many humans have not! She is now obviously adapting very well to being sightless, as many people do. Bless her heart! AND WAIT A MINUTE!: some time ago you told me, directly, that you loved your Navion, and you weren’t planning on getting something different! “WA HAPPENED?! “ If and when the time comes we need to sell our Lucy, that will be a black day for sure. Don’t think I could do it! Then again, you live in your’s, and that can be a whole lot different than taking her out for vacation! i lived in vista in the 80s and carlsbad state park rocks, check out the hermit crabs on the exposed reef at the south end of this awesome spot!! fun fun..be careful of the crustations ..don't stick your finger in them, some are poisonous!!!

Oh my goodness I’ve been watching your channel for three years and you were in my hometown Temecula, and yes I always buy Olive Oil in Old Town it’s the best. I was on the 15 fwy a few weeks ago and was driving next to a winnebago RV and thought to myself “ I wonder if it’s someone i follow on KZbin I wonder if it was you?
