Lestat and Louis would rationalize to themselves when reconciling how horrible they were to Claudia by saying she would have a hard life anyway and wouldn't be able to handle vampirism for a long period. Yet Louis is the one who tried to end his life and Lestat is somewhere depressed. Claudia had more mental fortitude than both of them. Beautiful Irony.

Claudia was also depressed at one point and she also dealt with horrific trauma. But I think that unlike Louis, Lestat, or even Armand, she acknowledged what she went through. Also, unlike the others, it seems like Claudia never felt guilt because she hadn't really done anything horrible compared to the rest.

Excellent as usual. That's the whole setup of the 2nd book, The Vampire Lestat. He spots and buys Louis' Interview book (young Daniel had no name in it -- only "the boy" until later books and all the evil where Armand tortures him for years, then makes him his first fledgling). Lestat gets pissed off at all the lies he reads (this was the 70s supposedly "performative" nonsense Louis spewed at young Daniel before attacking him, mind you), and Lestat decides to write his own story.

@tdali83475 ай бұрын
@@haveYallheard No, thank "Yall!" haha. You're the first non-book reader I've come across who actually called out a show hint that directly relates to something that happens in another book! Brilliant deduction. The 2nd half of the Interview book had not much Lestat in it till the end when Louis found him living "shabby chic" in New Orleans. The movie got boring for me fast because of this, even with the theater folks and Armand and flame-haired Madeline. So I love the TV show's invention of "Ghost Lestat", plus flashbacks of him with his first depressed, half-crazed boyfriend Nicky (Lestat does have a type haha!), and 18th century Armand (who was a shady Gremlin back then, too -- I'm sure we'll get more in Season 3/Book 2). Similarly, though, Louis doesn't play so big a part in The Vampire Lestat or Queen of the Damned, so I wonder how they'll incorporate him into the next couple seasons... Of course, Louis + Lestat are the center of our Immortal Universe! But the other relationship that fascinates me is the Louis/Daniel connection. "Boy" Daniel dared to tell Louis the truth -- that he was given "The Gift" and he was wasting it, missing the whole point of eternity by hating who/what he is. Louis didn't start to realize it until he was burned, but he really needed Daniel to live, this trustworthy finder, protector, defender and keeper of his life story; this 'break-glass-in-case-of-emergency' truth-telling human friend. We know from the VL rockstar promo that Lestat and Daniel will be there, but Louis??

Not life-saving blood, but healing blood. According to Daniel's final math, Armand had let Louis suffer for 6 days and 5 nights on the bed before granting him the healing properties of both coffin and his own powerful, ancient blood. Even then, Armand had already planned more torture by kinda making Louis hear from non-beige Lestat. That's the night, night 6, when Louis was able to stand and stagger out minutes later, healed enough to stop his "love" from killing Daniel. Who knows how many times in 77 years Armand did his passive torture, then wiped Louis' brain.
