An incredibly enlightened note there. Late-game Lvls aren't about tougher math-fights; they reward even newer players for building the story, by investing in their character and making impactful decisions.

The opening of this video really helped. Reinforcing the "Even if the ending isnt everything you want it to be doesnt devalue the fun moments you all shared on the way." Bit was very freeing. Helped shake that 'last session' GM anxiety and focus on prepping in a a new, less strewssful light. Thank you!

@ZipperonDisney Exactly, it seems that is what was holding me back as the ending I was able to make happen for my campaign was great after this video. Thanks again!!

Great video like so many others! You mentioned around the 7:00 mark, you commented that the secret to high-level play is in the narrative and whether the players can avoid the narrative traps. Can you do a whole video or even a whole series of videos on that topic? I'm inclined to agree, at least to an extent, but would love to hear how you go about structuring and creating those narrative traps?

This is good timing! I'm just about to end a campaign I've been running for the past year, and I'm nervous it'll be a letdown. We only have 2-5 sessions left. I'm trying to wrap up a bunch of arcs though so it should be exciting, and lead into a Campagin 2 that we'll play after we get another couple campaigns we want to play finished! Thanks for the advice! This will definitely be a rewatch when they're right behind the bosses final gate!

You can always do personal 1 on 1 after the ending to tie plot threads back, don't feel the need to close everything before it, only the ones that can't be closed after it need to be taken 100%. The other are simply bonuses.

It takes a whole dedicated group, not just a DM, to make these happen! I'm very lucky :)

Great vid!!! Ending campaigns is definitely something i need to get better at! It's hard to get the practice since i only get to do an ending every year or so, but these ideas are gonna help! Thank you!!!

Glad you like it! Good point about there not being a lot of opportunities to practice. The best we can do is try to learn from the experiences of others 😁

@@ZipperonDisney I think it’s oh so true that we should in the first place manage our own expectations. And it’s also true that we have to have a plan but keep our selves flexible enough to let player plans succeed. I think the best end is the one curated by the players. Not by me. That’s what I think ☺️
