If a player wants to play a character who acts like River Tam from the Firefly series, they ought to be quite and not say much. A player of such a character should focus on descriptions of what their character is doing rather than voice acting.

What are you using as a grid?

That wrapping paper map is really good though. But I know from experience that they take a while to make. Especially for something you will only use once or twice. The tiles can be reused in different arrangements and so can the furniture and trees. More use for a bit more effort.

A few of my players have been reshaping their plans for their character in response to how the campaign has been going. Two of them have been having a lot of fun supplicating the gods of my homebrew pantheon. Since they found that I like to reward them for creativity and interacting with the world, the storm sorcerer is now looking to dual class into tempest cleric, and the hexblade warlock is having a falling out with her patron, and may or may not go through a full respec of her character. Both very cool. Just not sure if these would happen if “DESTINIES” were in place. That said, I’m sure the epic destinies system would actually work very well with a couple of my other players….

A running cross-campaign world building where players have made permanent changes to my world throughout history is something my mentor taught me when i first started DMing 12 years ago, i moved to a new town and continued that universe, and my players have finally uncovered the convoluted plot that my last group of 4 years started... and they are so appalled that i had to message my old group about it!
