I can't take this beard anymore!
I know what you're saying, "That's not a real beard!" Well, it's a tiny beard that's greatly irritating my face...
I'm ending this mini No-Shave November with the oldest razor I've ever used. A 1912 Ever-Ready single sided razor seen in the previous video. I also try out the refurbished badger brush, the Palmolive shaving cream and the Witch Hazel Lavender after shave.
It's a bunch of firsts for me in this video, and maybe a shaving fail or two.
Enjoy!

Looks like there's a decent sized knot on that brush. The bigger the brush, the more soap you have to use (because the soap gets trapped in the hairs).

Oh my goodness...I about died when I saw your reaction to the aftershave...lol. I'm sorry they didn't treat you well this time my friend. Great idea to pass them along. I'll get you a better soap and aftershave to make up for it. Thanks for sharing and being a good sport. Looking forward to more videos.

I think you just drowned your lather both times. Creams don't need a lot of water at all. After soaking your brush gently squeeze out the excess water. You used the right amount of cream. Whip it up for 15 seconds before you add any water. With creams a lot of the time they don't do much then just explode with lather. After that first 15 seconds add in a few drops and get back at it till you get a good lather you desire.

Always start with dry lather because you could always add more water. But never start with too much water or else you are just gonna have a lather like the one you get from handsoap.

A brush maker that goes by the name of Graydog sent me what I believe to be the same razor. If I am not mistaken that is a 1929 gem Jr modeled after the 1912 Eveready. Who actually knows?!!! Either way, all I know is that this either gives a fantastic shave! Keep the great videos coming please....

Actually, you're supposed to "soften" your "beard" first with a hot towel for a couple of minutes, and then shave... just so's ya know ;) Signed, the Widow of a Life-time Beard Wearer... (and every time he would shave it off--for surgeries and such-- i would cry.)

The brush your using is too big for shaving cream, badger brushers or any brush with thick big bristles are best for lathering shaving soaps opposed to creams so the brush is absorbing all the cream in the time your shaving. I had the opposite problem I was using a small synthetic brush to lather shaving soap and it did the exact same thing as yours did because the brush couldn't hold the amount of lather that the soap produced ... If your using a soap or puck use a bigger brush eg. The badger brush you used in this video, if your using a cream use the black synthetic brush you use in other videos or any smaller brush. A shave stick eg. Arko or derby works brilliant with a big or small brush 😊

1912 refers to the patent date. Only the razors labeled Gem Cutlery / Damaskeene actually date from before 1919. Your Ever Ready would date from after 1930.
@SinatraLennon

@jmjm1921

SinatraLennon the Gem and Ever Ready 1912 patent razors, and the earlier Gem Cutlery Damaskeene, are all considered "1912s" as they're essentially the same design.
