Endless Easy But I CAN'T GRAB ANY POWERUPS

I've done the no coin endless challenge a fair amount of times, so now I thought I would give the no powerup challenge a try. Thought there would be more powerups in Easy, but I may have to extend this to be a pacifist challenge in the future.

Anything that physically changes your body would be a power up. Shellmets, Yoshis and vehicles are good to go I think

It’s odd but the Mario Wiki considers dry bone shells and shellmets as power ups, but not Yoshis. Doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me and I agree with your definition a whole lot more, even though they do effectively add another hit point.

Anything that player cannot remove and put back on at will is a powerup, imo. Cars, Yoshi, Boots, Dry Shells are good, you need to get hit to remove Shellmet.

I think the distinction should be vehicle vs power-up, power-ups gives mario abilities directly while vehicle does not. Yoshi is a vehicle as are boots cars and dry bones shells.

True 1-life endless easy. No 1-ups, if enemies die and give 1-ups after flag the run still ends. Levels that only have the top exposed must be skipped.

C'mon, man, you can have a formal definition of power up xD Try this: "Every object that you collect/use and cannot get rid of it at will via a single short button press" In that case: clown cars, shoes, shell bones and yoshis -> you can jump out of them, no power up mushrooms, fire flowers, flying powerups, cats, boomerangs, stars -> obviously power ups happy meals, red pows, rockets and the other stuff were kind of hard. The rocket needed the extra condition of a short press, to avoid slamming into a wall. helmets (either spiky or not) -> under this definition, you cannot unwear a helmet with a single press => power up 1ups - not a power up, they even don't protect you from a hit xD Did I miss something? :-)

I think if it adds a hit point, its a powerup, so no yoshi, no drybones shell, but clown car is fine, and I'm pretty sure the koopa car is fine, would need to check getting hit by a non-solid source of damage such as a koopaling projectile to see if you would die inside the car or not, I don't know off the top of my head.
