Quick notes on what I'm demonstrating in this video!: - How you should prioritize your scene and think creatively on getting details that would otherwise take you a long time to make - Use generated textures and modifiers to create special effects rather than trying to simulate and kill your pc - Get into populating your scenes with humans as you all now have enough assets online to be able to animate and add to your scene and make it more lively - Twist the free assets you have online to serve the purpose and look of your animation

I totally second the spark video texture! Though I do it in comp and stencil out but the same thing, much more photoreal to use real photo than CG! Nice breakdown!

That tree method is genius, will have to try that at some point. I used a similar approach with video textures to 'fake' a water sim in my render, but that was partially due to laziness and running out of time. Cool to see other people do similar methods, if it looks good who cares right? :D
