Long format: yay More gameplay: yay More network: yay More challenge: fuck yeah. I can't wait for those! 😊 And how did you do that upgrade montage? I'm intrigued.

I open the save on a multiplayer server and have one client record while I build on another client

Would love to have a fully zoomed out view of the map to get a sense of how the progress is coming along as a whole in the outros. Great series so far, loving it!

I gotta make a note to get full-map progress screenshots, that would be a good visual for sure 😄

Long-form sounds a good idea: you've got a very calming presentation style which should lend itself well to being a 4-hour VOD.

Love this series. Not sure if I love the intro more than the videos, because the way you say it is amazing. More please!

The way industries grow in this makes it rather difficult to make a large port, where everybody transfers to it. By the end of the first decade or so, the land is already saturated with all of these competing choices for you to branch out this way and that. And thereby encourages just local trade. It becomes quite a discipline to say no, I'm going to send it all the way over there instead to make that station really big.

How did you record the bit around 4:53 where we could see the upgrades as they happen without any of the UI? Did run the save in local multiplayer and have a separate client recording the area as you were changing it on your main client or something easier? Like it's actually a sequence of screenshots you took between making each change? Actually come to think of it, I'm not even sure that would be easier.

I had the save running in local multiplayer, then cropped out the UI while editing

Fantastic series so far, really enjoyable. Would love to see a tutorial on how to set up the city mania client for those extra buttons (I tried to and it turned my game bright blue lol idk what I did wrong) and how you download and add newgrfs to an existing game Keen to see another series from you, keep up the good work!

You should be able to get the latest citymania release from their github (github.com/citymania-org/cmclient), the zip files contain the complete build and you just have to run the executable. It's self contained as its own "version" of TTD (though it is compatible in multiplayer with vanilla) so you don't have to move any of your TTD files into it's directory or vise-versa. As for the GRF's, you have to do the console command "set newgrf_developer_tools = true" to enable editing them in an existing save. The window for editing them is then available in the options drop-down menu. It is sometimes risky to swap GRF's in an existing save, I would recommend never to swap vehicle sets as it is extremely finicky and will probably remove every single vehicle from the save (scenery sets are completely fine to swap as far as I know).
