If you have any ENDLESS Legend 1 tips, please reply here -- I never played a ton of it despite it CLEARLY being a perfect game for me.

In my opinion, don't worry about playing well. For me, this game is all about the atmosphere rather than min maxing. One tip I can give though, is in battles, if you give a move order, then hold control and select to attack, you can more precisely control where to move before attacking. Also, don't forget to select whether to attack, defend, or hold position, in case the order you gave turns invalid for whatever reason (such as the enemy you targeted gets killed before your unit's turn).

I would say use the ELCP mod. As for tips, I have one but it not always doable. Try to get to era 2 and at least 60-80 influence by turn 20 to get the tier two ability of science and industry. It give you a +33 building cost reduction. It's crazy strong.

Biggest thing to know I would say is that the factions really play quite differently from one another and you really need to tinker a bit with each one to get the hang of how they really work
@luke11194112 күн бұрын
Oh, also, if you do end up playing more, I would say turn on each dlc one at a time. Each one adds big mechanics and might be a bit overwhelming if you try learning them all at once.

@@luke1119411 Good tip. Some of the DLC I leave off because it's just too much. :)

I almost missed this announcment. Its good to see amplituded, 1, being independent again, 2, having another go at what is broadly seen as their most interesting and successful game.

Endless Legend is my all time favourite 4X game. It has flaws, but the atmosphere of it all was unbeatable. The music, art style, and uniqueness of the factions was amazing. Especially the music. The only game I've ever downloaded the soundtrack to so I could listen to it whenever.
@PatrickWalker-mm6lsКүн бұрын
The soundtrack is so perfectly beautiful. Auriga's main theme is my morning alarm. Can't wait to play 2 and be absorbed into the music!!

Like others have said, the games atmosphere, settings, mechanics are all amazing. Just play and have fun, its not a hard game to play, but thats its attraction.

Can we get the link for the lore vid that was mentioned by one of your viewers?

Totally missed the announcement, love Endless Legend, my fav factions are Vaulters and Ardent Mages. What I like most is how every faction is a completely different gameplay, compared to others like CIV where except for your nation bonuses, you basically always play the same way.

As long as they fix the combat and not have it be semi automated...I will love this.
@BetaJim22Күн бұрын
The combat isn't semi automated by default It's all manual moving the units and choosing what to attack or use abilities on the tactical battle map. It's not like an auto battler. Quill was just using spectator mode so he didn't have to actually do the tactical decisions because he was afraid he'd take too long doing that being new at the game and not showing other aspects of the game. IMHO it has some of the best combat out of any 4X I've ever played. Every faction plays completely differently not just in the overall strategy but also with the combat of the actual tactical battles. EDIT: and while you can do spectator or auto the way Quill was especially when ahead it is NOT anywhere near as good as a human and it feels very rewarding to be able to win without taking damage to continue to press an offensive or squeak out a victory from a poorly defended city by taking advantage of the terrain in the battle better than the AI etc.

@@BetaJim22 it's as "semi-automated" as spectating a DnD battle from outside is. The units just move based on initiative, but can get their attack eaten up through melee damage
@BetaJim22Күн бұрын
@ I don't know what you're trying to say here. I don't know what you mean by attack eaten up through melee damage or spectating a DnD battle from the outside. The default mode for how the battles work is for the player to control all of the units not to spectate the battle. Quill just chose those mode to save time.
@tylerphuoc2653Күн бұрын
@@BetaJim22 Some people can't wrangle the initiative system in EL1 and complain about not having proper control over their units or whatever. That's more or less what I'm alluding to. Dn'D battle systems are way more widely known, and like EL1 have their turn order determined by initiative with overall rounds
@BetaJim22Күн бұрын
@@tylerphuoc2653 OH! I understand what you mean now. Though IMHO I think the way they have it makes way more sense and adds more to strategy and balance options. It makes initiative a relevant stat and often comes at the cost of raw other numbers but in exchange allows you to control the battlefield. It's another way to express skill. While I agree a more static rounds for each side is common and understood I think the EL system is more balanced and skill based.

I've tried a few times to get into EL1 and I've bounced off of it and I don't know why because I love everything about it it just never sticks. Hopefully whatever nebulous thing isn't clicking doesn't carry over to the second one. I really wanna love it!

8:58 mark Dude reveals the ELII logo on his shirt...It was intentional because if he was hot he would have used two hands to open his sweater...If he would have done that he would have sold it better.... When I heard about this, I started thinking about the race I played that were strong as hell when they attacked someone in the winter...They were called the Forgotten. Out of all of the races in that game, that was my favorite and their mechanics were cool too... What was yours?

I hope they focus on story more on this one. Great lore and mechanics in their games but not great story. Endless 1 was so close to being the next Alpha Centauri

Is Endless Legend the turn based strategy where you play through several generations of ppl in a family?
@Hilipinapixili2 күн бұрын
No, Endless Legend was a 4x game set in a fantasy-at-the-surface-but-it's-actually-sci-fi setting. It's comparable to Civilization in terms of gameplay. You might be thinking of Massive Chalice, maybe. Haven't actually played it, but I heard it's a turn-based game with such a mechanic.
@Orimation2 күн бұрын
the game you're thinking of is most likely old world
