Vampire Survivors' DLC is one of the most incredible passion projects I've ever seen. They went all out, and the ending genuinely puts tripple As to shame.

Good year for rouge-likes with very creatives entries. I played: Hades 2, Balatro, Windblown, magicraft, shogun showdown, slice & dice, realm of ink. But a lot of names in this list seems to be fun too.

The lack of Oblivion Override is a major disappointment. Especially with how much content it has and how great the game feel is.

Windblown is sick, but also hard as fuuuuck in the last area. It's very fast paced, but I've not been a fan of a good chunk of weapons. So far, I've observed being at the mercy of RNG for some weapon builds due to the nature of affixes on them, and the only time I've cleared a run was by getting the Gift for extra boosts at the very beginning of a run. Realm of Ink is jokingly called "Chinades", due to the overt overlap in gameplay presentation, and its artsy aesthetic. However, to leave it at that is a disservice. I often see it compared to Hades + Warm Snow, but if you haven't played Warm Snow, that won't make any sense. It *plays* like Hades 1, but the upgrade layers and build capability are closer to Warm Snow, and you can do some WILD stuff. I've already almost crashed the game using a poison flower build, lagging it to a slideshow like I did in Warm Snow using lightning builds in the nightmare challenges. Also, Realm of Ink has the CUTEST little sidekick and characters in the Ink Kylin, and Momo. Hades 2 is rather hard to get into for me, since it's a massive departure in general gameplay from Hades 1. Coming out of that as a melee-centric player, the game feels very anti-melee most of them. It wasn't until I got the axe that I kiiiiinda started to enjoy it, and it plays similarly to Zagreus's sword, but little else. I enjoyed playing with the claws and shield most of all, but the game sports mostly ranged options. I struggled badly trying to make the dagger and sickle work due to how much zoning enemies and bosses felt like they had. This could just be a me problem. I ultimately did clear all of the content last time I played, though. I may pick up Ravenswatch. Curse of the Dead Gods wasn't a bad game, but I really didn't like it, and couldn't get into it at all.

Guys check out "Tiny Rogues", it's probably one of the best roguelites of this year and it is still in early access! Don't be fooled by its graphic, it has so much variety and complexity!

Can you please explain? Fans say this but I don't see much more than killing. Besides cooking, what is there to do but kill in this game?
@EmptyGoat
@EmptyGoat 26 күн бұрын
@@Nope-ity-nope-nope If you want to be reductive, then you're correct: Qud and all rpgs are just combat and exploration. The depth comes from the vast amount of systems that run the world and the ways they interact. If you ever thought "wouldn't it be cool if I could..." in a game, Qud will let you do it. Something simple like a locked door isn't a barrier with one solution, it's a puzzle limited only by your cleverness. Get a key, break it down, dig under it, teleport through, Qud allows nearly anything as long as you can figure out how to accomplish it.

The Castlevania DLC for Vampire Survivors 20+ characters is accurate....but in reality its like..way more characters added...so you could have gotten away with saying 50+ characters.

People are gonna hate me on this but Realm of Ink couldn’t get near Hades II level even if it stands out in 1 or 2 things
@RoadKamelot2nd
@RoadKamelot2nd 26 күн бұрын
Personally, I found the gameplay loop of the first game pretty boring and it gives too little control over your build. Also, the bosses are obnoxious damage sponges who even get 10-15 second periods of invincibility. If any of that is in Hades II, that's a reason for me to skip it and prefer Realm of Ink... or Yasha: Legends of the demon blade.
@MaaniGoldleaf
@MaaniGoldleaf 25 күн бұрын
That 10-12 seconds of invisibility time of bosses are one of the core few things making it special for me since they go in their 2nd/3rd phase, well your loss cuz the Hades II Early Access got that
