when would you diagnose chronic periapical periodontitis over chronic apical abscess?

Chronic apical abscess has a fistular tract and usually with no pain because the tract helps the pus escape so no pressure is built around the apex

CCD "X-Rays" are so poor that the real skill is not the treatment, it's reading the fuzzy X-Rays. The old silver film had 10x better resolution. Even as a patient I could tell what I was looking at.
