She knows humans only live a very short lifespan compared to Witches and knew one day Sam would have to watch Darren grow old and die while she had hardly aged a day and she also knew how much pain that would cause her. When Samantha pops out, Endora's position in the lawnchair or whatever it is moves a fair bit, and a totally different facial expression. That was unusual; they were normally very careful about not making it noticeable.

The cut to the next scene was pretty quick, so it may not have been noticeable back in the TV broadcast days before home video. From the 1980s and beyond you could record shows and have your instant playback to catch those errors. Now we just scroll back on our phones. 😆

This makes it easy to understand why Liz practically hated the show and wanted to be released in the last two seasons: this is a direct remake of the Caldwell's Soup episode with Dick York. The creativity in the writing had long since been gone. :(

Even though everything you said is true and it somewhat hints at the slightest negative thing about Bewitched, why is it your comment is aloud to stay up, but when I commented about something I wasn't fond of about Bewitched or the Tabitha series for that matter, even though over all I loved Bewitched over its run, twice now the person(s) running this site would not allow my comment to be shown. It was in no way disrespectful, just my thoughts on some parts of the show (and Liz's performance near the end) . . . and especially my dislike for the Tabitha series (and why Liz would have nothing to do with it). . . it was certainly in no way saying anything that wasn't true nor anything harsher that what you said, yet your comment is totally acceptable by the control freaks of this site. The first six seasons of Bewitched, the network aired 30 or more episodes of the show. They were down to 26 episodes in season eight. They simply ran out of plotlines. The whole premise of the show, a husband demanding his wife not live her authentic self, would be unworkable today, but if the show were being produced today, the final seasons would have had the Stephens surfing the multiverse or something, but that was not a concept for a 60s or 70s sitcom.

This is similar to Season 1, episode 5-"Help Help, Don't Save Me," when Darrin accused Samantha of using witchcraft to promote his campaign ad slogan and Samantha disappear with Endora after a fight with Darrin. Darrin came back home & apologize to Samantha and she appear back home and both made up. Does that sounds very familiar and similar?

this episode is identical to season 1 with the soup account - where darrin accuses samantha of witchcraft on his sketches for client... then realizes she didn't cause client doesn't like, then she "says how the product will never come between them" and he says how she inspired him. 1:14- While Sam would leave shortly after this and only have had a few sips, it looks like there was about a gallon of liquid in those glasses (and seemed like it was sangria)! I hope Endora was able to zap herself to a ladies' room in no time flat after finishing that drink. OTOH, while Endora rightly called it re Darren, it was refreshing that she actually seemed to opt to keep relaxing there and enjoying herself after Sam heard out Darren's apology instead of the usual deal of getting frustrated and trying to scheme.

Created a Narcissist or Namby-Pamby by his overprotective, fussing mother. He needs a nanny not a wife. Endora is 100% right. See how he prevents Samantha from being herself and having her powers. He makes rules that apply to her but not him. All the red flags of a controlling, abusive spouse. Considered perfectly normal in 50's and 60's.
