Freshwater Freediving

Freediving in freshwater ponds in South Australia.

Sukotto1000. The aquatic life in the freshwater sites of Mount Gambier varies depending on the site. The two sites shown here are quite different. A number of large yabbies (a bit like small crayfish or lobsters) can be found in Ewens Ponds. There are some small fish in Piccaninnie Ponds. Both have freshwater eels.

April 2014. During a snorkelling and freediving trip to Mount Gambier, South Australia I got some footage of some of the freshwater sites and subsequently put this video together. Unfortunately I also accidentally hit my head on a rocky outcrop and ended up getting stitched up in hospital. That cut the videoing short and I ended up out of the water for a few weeks.
