Notice at 1:20, the first group of riders had to traverse over that large pile of rocks. Where the second set of riders starting at 1:50 did not. Either the first group should be awarded time by deduction, or the second and subsequent groups thereafter the first, should have time added for not having to traverse that obstacle of rocks. Who got payola?

Can someone tell me if two strokes are required by this sport or are they preferred? It seems that the low end torque would be the best choice for this style of racing.

The torque of these 300s is more than enough for this style of riding. But on top of that they weigh 15-20lb less while also feeling like they weigh 50lb less by having a fraction of the the centrifugal force from the engine.
