Appeared in 2012, the Honda 250 CRFL was to be the heir to the 250 XLS. A very nice promise on paper that had not translated into the columns of the Japanese giant's Excel tables. The 250 had struggled to sell in France in concession. A flop, a wash, call it what you want, but Honda France had been burned. Last year, the Japanese parent company stubbornly split a second generation inflated to 300 cm3 to better pass the Euro 5 standard. Lightened by 4 kg, the power / weight ratio of the 300 increased by 14% compared to compared to the 250. Not really crazy on paper, right? This is also what Honda France said, which had not even planned to install a single drop of it in France... before changing its mind and witnessing a tidal wave of orders, to the point of have to face a shortage in 2022!
Why this sudden 300 CRFL mania?
Its tight price of 5,999 euros is not enough to explain this craze, we took the question head on.
