Well, my two cents is that It is a lamentable situation when a director, in the face of criticism, resorts to accusing fans of racism simply because they dislike his movie. This unfortunate tendency to label dissenting voices as inherently prejudiced undermines the essence of constructive criticism and perpetuates a toxic environment within the film industry. In my book, it is essential to acknowledge that fans have the right to express their opinions on a movie, regardless of their reasons. Disliking a film does not automatically equate to racism. As audience members, we have diverse tastes, preferences, and expectations. If a director chooses to retell a famous story and takes liberties by altering the characters' racial backgrounds, it is only natural that some fans may question the creative decisions made. It is not inherently prejudiced to express disappointment in the acting, story, or cinematography of a film. Instead of dismissing fans' concerns as racist, directors should engage in meaningful dialogue with their audience. By addressing the criticism and explaining the creative choices behind the movie, directors can foster understanding and bridge the gap between their vision and audience expectations. Accusing fans of racism not only alienates the audience but also detracts from the larger conversation surrounding diversity and inclusivity in the film industry. It is crucial to distinguish between genuine concerns and racist remarks, as conflating the two undermines the fight against racism and diminishes the significance of legitimate criticism. We should be creating an environment that encourages diverse perspectives and fosters growth within the film industry.

In my opinion the concept of swapping in a vacuum is not the worst thing in the world. The problem is dam near every single time it's done it's specifically to make a play on some kind of woke agenda. Using that Samuel example they swapped him in for a traditionally white character but he isn't going on all day saying I'm oh so black all day. He just does his role

What’s also hilarious is that Robin Hood “stealing from the rich” is by itself a gross modern oversimplification of the character, for he was not stealing from rich people in general so much as he was in actuality taking back peoples money and property that was stolen by a corrupt state. That oversimplification now combined with a Black criminal committing actual theft just makes this all the more darkly funny to me due to how little foresight and self awareness these dolts in charge have.

Cleopatra's downfall was about a power struggle between two factions in the Roman Republic not too long after the death of Julius Caesar, not about native Egyptians rejecting the rule of a non-Egyptian queen. Mark Antony had joined an alliance with Cleopatra (a Roman/Ptolemy-Hellenist/Egyptian conglomerate) against Octavian (later "Caesar Augustus") and his Western Roman faction. Antony and Cleopatra were soundly defeated militarily by Octavian's forces, and they both committed suicide rather than be captured to be paraded as war prizes. It had nothing to do with a rebellion by the Egyptians against them.

I sold ladies shoes and my paycheck amount was based on the dollar amount of the shoes I sold. 10% commission. I can't imagine EVER telling a customer that the reason a pair of shoes didn't work out....was that their feet were terrible.....or that the buyer didn't know or understand how to use their new shoes. This era of blame is sickening to a Gen X guy like myself. Hey HOLLYWOOD.....ever hear of the phrase "the customer is always right"? How do the share holders of a company as big as Disney hokd themselves back from storming Disney executive offices after Disney stock went from 275/share less than two years ago to hovering around 71/share? How does the 250M budget for a movie at Disney get approved in the first place....where Disney producers know that the content of said film is not going to attract an audience big enough to even make their investment back? Last time I checked Disney is in the business of making a profit and that ain't happening.....

Honestly the woke ideology that is being implemented into destiny has almost ruined a lot of the experience for me, like any take away from making the game actually good is a big a waste of time, there is nothing wrong with representation but if it gets in the way of development time and making the game better then it is not necessary. It all doesn’t matter as much as Bungie believes it does.
@jeremyrichard2722

Well, I wanted to say a few things that are important to this narrative: 1. The problem with black creators is that the people running the media companies right now are not so much operating as a conspiracy, but are united in a more general sense by a sort of shared ideology where truth is less important than a given philosophy and it's best for everyone if people believe only in truths that reinforce that philosophy. A sort of "we can create utopia if we can make it so only people who think this way and put these thought processes first exist". To do this requires destroying the current power system which if looked at purely in term of ethnic identity is mostly white people, regardless of what they believe. To succeed they need to turn all sides against the center, and eroding the various white identities is an easy way to get everyone else to attack those people and power bases, as it renders nuance impossible. I won't break this down further. At any rate there are plenty of black creators who do other kinds of stuff, but only those who do this kind of thing, and can be used as ethnic icons and rallying points, tend to be given much of a major platform. The thing is, most of the people who are black who do other kinds of creative stuff aren't generally known to be black, and their work just tends to stand on it's own. A recent example would be how so many people attacked Mike Pondsmith without realizing he was black when "Cyberpunk 2077" was the current target of the left. "Cyberpunk" representing a sort of overall problem to the left because while on the surface it has a lot of messages about individuality and so on, it generally presents a "Dark Future" largely coming from what was out of control leftist ideology, and the way people express individuality in that environment, say raging against information control by media corporations (a big left wing tool) is anti-thetical to the left. If you look there are quite a few black creators who make very good stuff, that has nothing to do with these messages, but unless they sell out and allow that stuff to be inserted those guys are very rarely given the platform for something like "Robyn Hood". Despite having a fan base and a more established history notice when Mike Pondsmith stepped out of his lane to to speak he got attacked, and it only slowed a bit when his identity was revealed, this was because he got a major video game like 2077. In comparison the joker doing Robyn Hood can keep failing and being given chances because he is doing the kind of thing they want. 2. When it comes to the myth of Robin Hood to begin with, you can do a lot with it. That said it doesn't work for stuff like this. See Robin Hood was not just some thief stealing from certain people he happened to disagree with. The story was a product of a time when relations between France and England were not exactly great, and the Norman French had managed to replace a lot of the nobility of England and were oppressing the people due to long standing political tensions, as well as doing things like raising taxes and then basically kicking the money over to a foreign crown as opposed to using that money what it as for in England to begin with. Also remember this was born of a time when the term "Noble" had a positive association as a set of traits, as nobles were not seen as bad if they did their jobs properly, unlike today where people have scorn for the entire idea. The mythology of being saved by a "White Knight" or something was actually taken seriously for a very long time, as these systems were not always viewed as inherently corrupt and wrong. Of course also remember given why the US rebelled, we have a sort of cultural bias against some of the foundations on which this kind of story relies. At any rate what Robin Hood was doing was protecting his people, people he had a right to rule, and was supposed to have been legitimately loved by, from a usurper. This entire "rob from the rich to give to the poor" thing was not some kind of early leftist commentary, it was because the Normans were stealing money from the people they were not entitled to, and he was returning unfairly taken taxes to the people who were becoming impoverished as a result. The Loxleys very much would have collected taxes themselves of course, but the point was they weren't as bad as Prince John especially given that he was sending that money to France after pocketing a bunch of it himself. The entire story is pretty much that Robin was away (much like the king) allowing the takeover due tot he alliances that existed due the general unity created by the politics causing Europe to try and unite for things like The Crusades. When he returned and found his title usurped, he fought back, and did his job to protect his people, rallying a militia of sorts, and fighting the usurper until the real king returned, ending a lot of the problem since it was political as much as anything. Robin Hood was portrayed as an expert archer because as we know from some of the climactic battles between France and England, the English Longbow allowed a comparative handful of archers to literally decimate the flower of French knighthood in battles like Agincourt where by all rights they should have lost badly. The French were riding in to more or less seize victory easily, and then wound up being cut down by archers they couldn't strike back against. Robin Hood was intended to be symbolic of that, even if the actual battles were not achieved by these sorts of methods. This is why this version of Robyn Hood cannot work (for those who read this far) as your uh, "criminal hip hop band" are not the rightful rulers of the land they are in, and strictly speaking if they were going to be doing what Robin Hood was, they should be fighting the IRS anyway. See a clever, modern, spin on the idea might actually be to have someone like a computer hacker in a green suit, stealing money from PACS on both sides of the fence, corporations, and the IRS, and re-distributing the money taken through scams and unreasonable taxes back to the people. If I was going to be clever with the analogy I might make them say a native american-british ethnic mix (either gender could work) who is sort of doing it on general principles, perhaps with a personal backstory where his idealistic company had been framed and seized unfairly before this all started by an alliance between business rivals, politicians, and a weaponized IRS. I would make "The Merry Men" an array of shell corporations, and to make things interesting of course since people would be hunting him, he'd have a band of mercenaries that protect him. I'd likely claim he has a special AI assist hacking program called "Longbow" or something to cement it. Something like this could vaguely work.

I remember when black movies were just about black people. You see how they live their lives and the audience takes away whatever they take away from it. Friday. Boyz N Da Hood. Menace II Society. Those were REAL movies about real life and real issues. These woke films are basically Jussie Smollet boiled down into moving picture format -that is to say, lies trying to push a false narrative. We live in a world where some blacks are doctors, engineers, scientists, movie stars, and hell even ice hockey players. I don't count the former President because that mofo set race relations back so many years and most likely was a Communist plant. Racism (though probably still existent in remote areas where no one would willingly step foot in and perhaps in the back of a very very small group of people's minds namely on the Democrat/leftist side) is for the most part dead. They need to move on. Take responsibility for themselves and make the most of what life has to offer them. Playing victim will get them nowhere and listening to leftists will get them somewhere far worse. As Malcolm X said, "The White liberal is the worst enemy to America and the worst enemy to the Black man." Equating them (leftists) to basically wolves in sheep clothing.

She was a person with goals who got put into a crazy situation and did she could to survive. I want more of that. Today, they would've stuck a line in that film that made you know they don't respect her because she's a *black woman* black women are always fighting the man, the *white man* People are so insane now. I still remember that "X-women" line from those remakes. It was so cringe and and off putting especially from a character who is a murderer to another who got crippled to save millions of lives. Because women are always the victim. Black people are always the victim. Even when they are undeniable villains. 🤦🏿‍♀️

Those movies didn’t solve any real issues, just made foreigners think that’s all we were. Made our image bad worldwide for everyone else’s entertainment, then people tried to mimic the films and became the stereotype. Also remember, when slavey happened, we were not allowed to speak in our native tongue or it’d be cut out. Couldn’t pass down any cultural and folklore. So Black people were forced to assimilate with White people taking their culture, religion, and historical figures into their own culture, we don’t even know what country we came from so pretending we’re any sort of African would be cultural appropriation as well. And people are most definitely racist, we gon forget those 10 black people gunned down in the buffalo supermarket? Or those 3 that just got murdered in the dollar tree In florida? Are we gunna forget the 6 cops that sexually tortured and attempted to murder those 2 black men in Mississippi? Racism never ended, it never got better, it just became more subtle. @@sianaisI know it has a remake in the works, but Final Fantasy VII (1997) the video game literally has a character named Barrett Wallace. He’s an amputee missing an arm who survived a fire, he actually saved his presumably dead best friend’s child from the fire in his hometown caused by an evil corporation. He is a single father, who has a gun for an arm to fight and even helps up with a rebel alliance named Avalanche to dismantle the evil corporation that has a neo city called Midgar that they basically police over and control. His daughter isn’t his own, but he does everything he can and keeps going for her because he loves her. He sticks his neck out for others and is putting himself in danger to save others. They even show this in the remake so far, it is never really mentioned that he is black or made a big deal. He does have a certain dialect, but he’s from a small mining town in the middle of nowhere so it makes sense. He doesn’t act like a victim, he straps a gun to his fucking arm and just does things. @@YourKingJDG nope. Your thinking is part of the problem. Stereotypes develop for a reason. Do all of them accurately paint everyone perfectly? No. But generally they are correct. Blacks are their own worst enemies. It was blacks that sold out their own and help enslave and ship slaves all across Europe, and to the new land. Slaves existed way before American history. In fact, they still exist in some Middle Eastern countries and other areas. Or look at China's treatment of Uyghur Muslims. It's modern day slavery. The US has done a lot to end actual slavery, the only reason why it is so prevalent and in the forefront of people's minds is because of race baiters MOSTLY all on the left Democrat side. There is a lot of censorship in the mainstream media, that I can't even post the response I want. So all I will say is, the movies did show the real issues plaquing blacks. They showed what blacks (and others) have to deal with when they live in the hood, that they need to change their perspective, and that whether they choose to be victims or not, it's up to them and them alone to change their fate. I will grant you this... there is a certain group of individuals that Corporate America has been successful at latching onto and, yes, it would be the modern equivalent of slavery. However, it's not exactly what you think. What group has successfully gotten blacks to wear dresses and act a fool on screen? What group has gotten them to waste loads of money on basketball shoes? What group has given them a free pass to do whatever they want even though their actions endanger themselves, others, and leads to failure? What group thinks so lowly of them, to believe that they are so inferior that they cannot obtain driver licenses or pass academic tests without assistance?

@@hadeseye2297 There being other slave groups and slavery still being practiced by arabs doesn’t negate any of what happened here. Did the Belgians committing Genocide against 15 million Congolese people negate Hitlers genocide amongst the Jews?

Writer: "I've got this idea for a show. There's this property developer who buys a really crappy skyscraper where lots of poor people live, and wants to renovate it. Then there is this black Hip hop band called "the Hood" , they break into someone else's property, assault a female police officer and get away with it, then plan a heist where they pinch the property developer's thousand year old antiques. it's going to be a retelling of Robin Hood, accept that all the poor, jobless people are black, and all the rich, successful people are white. It's going to be just like the legend accept that instead of robbing from the rich and giving to the poor, this time Robyn Hood (whose a woman now), will rob from the rich and give to herself and her friends!" Critic: "isn't that really racist!" Writer: "Of course not! In fact for even suggesting such a thing you! Must be the one who is racist!"

I worked a gig for Nike couple of years ago. The production team that were hired were the direct underlings and Director X's progeny...It was one of the worst teams I had the displasure of working with. They treated all talent like garbage, like we were the ones not knowing what to do , when the team hasnt prepered a proper "game plan" for the day and 95% of the shoot was -"Ah , we will figure something out". Again , it was NIKE shoot. Oh and to add to the racism, I am a white guy with blue eyes, eventually after the project was done and I saw the final results , they cut me from all the pictures and videos they took and only left one Half a second extreme close up frame - moment where my hand High Fives a black hand .....😑🤣 ...To summarize - worked with Director X and his team , he sucks on professional and personal level.😐

The people should not forget this: At one point, before they lose everything, they will step back and make "normal" movies again, but even then, people should boycott them until they're gone. And even if a new company arises out of the ashes, look at the owners and connections. Most like, the new company is just a new branding with new puppets to keep money flowing. If that's the case, boycott them too, don't get played my friends. Always use your brains! :)

LOL - film making in 2023: 1) Take a long established, beloved character and completely destroy their identity in order to project your own selfish, delusional, modern day social ideology. 2) When the "new" version is naturally despised by everyone....just call everyone a racist. 3) When movie naturally fails miserably... blame racism again. 4) Find another long established, beloved character and repeat. This is so beyond old and tired. F OFF.

7:52 Yo you spittin some wack history here 😆😭 🤣 Cleopatra lived like 200 years after Alexander, and Egypt loved her, seeing her as Egyptian because she spoke the language. She was the only descendant of Ptolemy that learned the native Egyptian tongue, and infused her being with the ideology of the goddess Isis. (It was the Romans that hated her, maybe what your thinkin) Though she was some divinely inbred Greek, that was for certain; somehow managed to hit the genetic jackpot as far as sons/daughters of Ptolemy go. Ptolemy being the founder of Egyptian-Hellenistic dynasty, being a lieutenant of Alexander 😉👉 But the Greek’s at the time thought they descended from Egypt; and King Arthur fought the English - but whatever bro

First Netflix's Actor for One Piece's Zoro is called sexist by She-Hulk's actress because he gets paid more than her, despite one being from Netflix and the other Disney. Now there's this. There's a limit how desperate people can cry out for attention when they fail hard.
