I'm honestly not surprised that this exists. A lot of the woke works we're seeing now were probably already well into the advanced stages of development during the big identity politics push in the early 2020s. Outright cancelling them, even as the cultural zeitgeist turns against this movement in 2024, is probably viewed as financial suicide. It would likely result in some kind of lawsuit from those involved in their production. Unfortunately, contractual obligations mean that there likely would be a case from the plaintiffs if these woke games, shows, and movies are outright cancelled and shelved. So the companies that went all in on the identity politics agenda but are now trying to reverse course don't have a choice but to release them and hope for the best (for the shareholders and executives, at least). Think of the logic networks and studios use when they're "burning off" a low performing show (critically or commercially). They're just releasing it the first chance they get even if they know it might not attract a large audience. They have to at least pretend they're trying to meet contractual obligations, promote, and release the media. Perhaps these works that they know are going to fail may even be tax write offs. Overall, we'll probably keep seeing these identity politics-driven and obnoxiously preachy games, shows, and movies release into at least 2026 so that these studios can clean up their backlogs and meet contractual obligations. It will just be up to us as customers to not support these works if we know that they won't connect with us; we vote for what ends up on the market with our wallets.

So these companies feel they don't have to listen to what their actual audience wants because their money is coming in large supply elsewhere. Finally someone said it. Jin´s Story was not done. I'm tired of people claiming that his story was over and now we have to move on to Atsu. It's not true and people that played the first game know this. I would say his time as Ghost had just begun as... All of his friends got their "revenge" stories done and learned some lesson about themselves. By endgame, Jin is a fugitve on an island of samurai ordered by the shogun to kill him... A FUGITIVE On An ISLAND... His best option is to go to the mainland with Yuna, take their trauma bond, lay low, clap cheeks and start a family farm... like Ezio did lol

Or another idea: There are some imposters (i know there are a side story like that already in the game, but you could expand that idea) that even try to kill the shogun or his advisers and Jin gets the blame. He and his former friends getting hunted down and the player must find the imposters, while also being constantly chased by the strongest and most dangerous samurai the shogun has. Of course that is just my idea how the story for a sequel could have been. There are way more possible stories that they could have told with Jin as the main Char. But well, now we get Atsu and we can only hope she is also an interesting character. ps.: Ezio´s story was one of the best in the series and overall and the ending after 3 games from a rookie to the grandmaster of assassins and finally the nice conclusion with -forgot her name, lol^^ was very well told. In the 1274 invasion, the Mongols only made it to Kyushu Island at Hakata Bay for only 1 or 2 days before the typhoon storm wrecked their fleet (hence why Ghost of Tsushima has no need to show us a battle at Hakata because it was over so fast), but in the 1281 invasion, they successfully landed at Hakata and forced the Japanese to fight the Battle of Koan that lasted over two months. This is what the sequel should have been focused on: Jin can't stay on Tsushima since he's got a price on his head and he'll be found on a small island eventually, so he escapes to Kyushu to lay low and try to start a new life, but then seven years later he's thrown back into the fight when the Mongols hit hard again, just like in Batman: The Dark Knight Rises when Bruce Wayne's 8 years of solitude are ended by Bane's attack on Gotham.

So I agree with most things in the video. The one thing I don’t agree with is that Jin’s story isn’t done. I think his story was concluded with the duel with his uncle and the Island of Iki DLC. He basically took back the whole islands of Tsushima and Iki, he freed his uncle, and he killed the main leader of the Mongol army. He also had to deal with his father’s legacy and death. There’s so much that happened that there really wouldn’t be much for a direct sequel to do. He wouldn’t fight the Shogun’s army because he spent half the first game trying to get reinforcements. The Mongol army is almost entirely wiped out and leaderless so there’s not much of anyone for him left to fight. If we got a sequel where Jin has to fight another Mongol warlord and avoid being captured by the Shogun’s army, people would complain about it not feeling original just like people complained about AC:Revelations. Not every story needs to be one and done but not every story needs a direct sequel either.

I don't think they should continue Jins story, making the ghost franchise an anthology makes so much more sense. Jins story had a good ending in the first ghost of Tsushima let it rest man. Have each ghost game be about a place / time in Japanese history and tell full complete stories each time, It gives so much more room for new places and new interesting characters. Sucker punch is one of the most trusted game devs of all time, each game they make has been a banger and a half. Jin could have a 2nd game in the future or a prequel around his father but I personally really like the anthology approach. As for the actress stuff i think she is allowed to speak her mind on things she believes in (while i don't agree with a lot of them). You got to separate the art from the artist, like when she says she wants to abolish the police but is playing a ronin it doesn't mean she has to like the police. I’ve always thought of GoT as a slightly better Ubisoft game. It has many of the same problems, being repetitive and formulaic but I did manage to push through the late game tedium and actually finish it. But now, it seems they’ve gone 100% Ubisoft. Looking like a skip for me.
