Whereas I have almost no experience with Anno, and everything you do is learning for me, Endzone is a game I have played a lot of. So I was very keen (having found this older playthrough) to see how our tactics compare. Almost identical. Even down to the choice of wells over the jetty and cistern. You really do know these games very well indeed. And your presentation is so easy to follow. Sehr gut! But I was still shocked by the rapid population growth. I never get that much, that fast. I think the "low" consumption is helping that. But I still learned something new: Using "gathering" tasks immediately, to put those idle citizens to work on the first day, gathering scrap and wood and berries. Very useful starting boost. Danke!

I would say this Nirvarias playthrough is the most perfect "beginners guide" you could possibly find. Do what he does, and you will rarely (if ever) fail. Just beware - this particular game has a way of biting you when you are most vulnerable. This makes the survival challenge real, though. Keeping stocks of water and food as high as possible is critical to survival. One thing he is doing, but has not commented on, is how each building has a "road frontage" - the green strip(s) highlighted during building placement. It is VERY important to place buildings with the correct orientation to connect to the roads - it saves a lot of walking time of the villagers.

Man, you are so lucky to have perfect starts EVERY TIME.

No luck involved. He just knows how to play this game very well indeed. He did not even regenerate the starting seed for a "better" map. Although maybe he did that off camera, beforehand! This map certainly looked perfect to play on. On the other hand, the "low" consumption level setting does make things considerably easier. Water and food were easy to build stocks of, despite the early droughts. Then again, I also build wells immediately, maybe adding a cistern for extra storage, because jetties and cisterns consume as many workers for an unreliable supply.

I'm liking this play through. I really enjoyed Endzone myself however, I would mention that lake water is very important for bulk water needs. Wells are good but they do not handle high stress levels which a large city will create. Though, I'm excited to see where this goes.

Please make the video longer. The short duration of the video makes it less enjoyable, and you reduce the duration every time you publish a video. A third of an hour is not enough.

27 minutes is nearly half of an hour

A longer video would be nice, but attention span is hard to keep, and in order to do a 30m video you have to record hours of gameplay. Which means hours of editing. I think Nivarias has the perfect ratio at the moment.

I do not underestimate his efforts. But I don't enjoy any strategic game unless he plays it. He can broadcast the project live to relieve himself of the effort. What do you think?
