This series is probably my most antipaciated TV show ever. I hoped they will do something like this for so long. And we will finaly find out (after so many years) what happened to our baby girl Jinx and why she went crazy.

You're correct, they're just taking characters from the game and developing their stories/backgrounds. All of the characters in the game are from the same universe (many of them interact with each other in their lore), but the game itself takes place in a fictional arena that doesn't exist, where we make these characters fight each other for essentially no reason. None of the lore of these characters will tie into the game that we play, meaning at no point in their stories do they end up in the setting of the game that we play. I'm sure others may have a simpler way of explaining it, but this is kind of a normal thing in gaming. The multiplayer versions of games often don't align with the actual lore of the games story, it's just a bunch of characters being pulled from a story to create a fun game.

In a sense, League of Legends is basically the beta version of these characters now, in a sense that they can prototype characters, lore, designs, connections, and stories and then throw everything at the creative wall that is the game "league of legends". Whatever sticks, as in the fanbase takes a liking too, can be further developed into more dynamic and compelling stories. The connections between Vi and Jinx were one of the earliest examples of two characters sharing a very connected backstory. (The classic splash art for both feature the same backdrop) so it makes sense that the first Arcane story will focus on those two. That being said though, WHERE'S MY BRAUM AT.

Anyone remember when the rift (the battlefield the game takes place on) used to have an in universe explanation? When the rift was a place where each region would send their best to fight for political gain. Instead of wars they would duke it out on the rift where nobody had to die permanently.

Jinx was released in the game (and introduced to the world of Runeterra) as this crazy psychotic girl obsessed with making everything explode and creating chaos. From her lore we don't know what made her this way and it's reasonable to assume this series will show us the events that shaped her into the way she is right now in League of Legends.

It's always been implied from little clues like voice lines("You think I'M crazy?! You should see my sister!"-jinx/"You look like your sister! Er, wait, I'm not supposed to talk about that..."-shopkeeper), as well as their lore(Vi can barely remember anything from childhood, and Jinx going from innocent to wild card specifically taunting Vi with her graffiti) and splash arts(Jinx's splash is the same scene as Vi's, but destroyed instead of shiny new looking)

Riot really went all out advertising for Arcane, so I'm hoping/guessing they want this to take off so they can do more series about other characters and their nations. Which would be pretty cool as there's a lot of lore unexplored.

As a gamer and as a Jinx main? This is the best thing that's happening in my life. So Arcane's stories are the Canon & Confirmed origin stories of these characters. Jinx and Vi, to name a few but we'll also get to see the following: Ekko(It was teased in the music video, kid who has white hair and is wearing white) Jayce(The guy who proposed to harness magic through science) Heimeedinger(small dude with crazy hair and mustache) Viktor(not revealed who or which one is Viktor but his current appearance is mostly augmented parts, even his face is like a mask) Caitlyn("She's too far gone" girl and the girl who visited Vi in the cage) After so many years, players(like me) and non-players(like you) can both understand what happened to these characters and how they came to be.

Three episodes per act. Nine in total. 40 mins each episode. I’m excited for this but it is definitely not the best story in League of Legends. If this is a success though I’m massively excited for what they will cover next. Possibly Azir and the story of Shurima? Possibly the Noxus invasions? Possibly the serial killer Jhin? Possibly Ryze and the rune wars? Possibly the void? Possibly Mount Targon? The possibilities are endless.

I'm not a huge fan of focusing on the big world ending storylines like these ones. Jhin would be a cool one. What I like about Arcane is that it feels contained and very personal, great for deep character development. If I had to choose a champs story for each region it would be Jhin/the Kinko for Ionia, Riven or Talon for Noxus, Sylas for Demacia, Taliyah for Shurima, Nunu or Olaf for Freljord, Miss fortune with Graves and TF as a B plot for Bilgewater, Thresh for the shadow isles, then for Targon I feel they should make new characters, same with Ixtal but definitely include nidalee

For me, it hits right on the spot as one of the most interesting stories they could go for. But that's one of the nice things about Runeterra, there is something for everyone. They can do movies and other stuff in totally different art styles. Imagine Noxus themed series in a Game of throne style with real actors. They could go for a full-on anime based on Ionia. Or something completely original.

All characters in the game have their own story line, some of them are related like Vi and Jinx that everyone thought we're sisters but only confirmed in arcane. This show focus on 2 specific cities that are Pilotover and Zaun, the later sinked in the earth and they built Pilotover over it, so Zaun represents the underworld and thats we're you see the gangs, violence and more weird stuff

League of legends is purely a 5v5 player vs player experience (Multiplayer online battle arena, moba for short) so, outside of a few paragraphs of lore, there is no real story inside the game itself and you won't be missing anything significant going in.

Hi, the music video is seen as sad because it highlights how happy and sane blue hair (jinx) used to be. Here's what I got from the video. Jinx used to be happy kid with her sister pink hair (Vi) but things got hard. Jinx had more dark tendencies compared to her sister trying to keep everyone safe. She went to far at some point (put someone in danger, got someone killed, killed someone... something like that) And Vi got mad at her about that. The saddest part is ironically JID's verse because it shows her battling the evil inside her with boy with white hair (Ekko) keeping her in check or like a moral compass. At the end of the verse... He disappears and the evil represented by her adult self takes control. Basically she turns into a psychopath... not crazy yet though.

Jinx`s "Here we go" fits so well because although people think of Jinx as a Harley Quinn ripoff in reality she was based on Heath Ledger`s Joker if Helena Bonham Carter played the character with a little splash of Tank Girl and Gollum.

From what I know, the lore is based around the world of Runeterra. So all the champions you can play as in league are from there and all at different time lines of the story. League of legends is us (summoners), playing as those characters in a battle arena. So the game and lore are essentially separate.

Yes, but while mostly separate they do influence each other. Character abilities and their names even playstyles in the game are influenced by the lore as well as voice lines and voice line interaction between characters. Like mordekaiser getting stronger after killing someone in his ultimate is a sort of representation of him getting stronger after each mage he kills.

So League doesn't have a story that you play through in the game. The Stories or "Lore" of League of Legends is supplemental and helps players build character identity while they play the game. There are also alternative universes within league of legends where the same characters may have different lore based on the "Skin" they are wearing. Such as the Coven skin line. Skins change the appearance of you're character and help also build player attachment. I'm extremely excited for this show and can't wait to see what happens.

If you look at how the game League of Legends works, you will realize that the storyline here does not influence the game at all. The characters from the game all have lore and short stories, marvel comics, cinematics, all that good stuff, but thats all outside the game itself. Fun Fact: The series will be released on the same day as the League of Legends worlds finals are. I suppose the opening ceremony will be Arcane themed and they will have Imagine Dragons live performing this song.

so the story of the world (in game) is like tens of thousands of years long spread over 8 regions and this show is base on the tiniest part of that story. Everything that happens (to my knowledge) is canonically tied into the world building and from what ive seen is only based on a handfull of characters from the game. this is more or the developers of that game dipping their toes in to the film making scene. if they wanted they could making something to rival the MCU.

The game itself actually has no storyline, so to speak. It's just a bunch of characters whom, if you really want to nerd out, have a couple paragraphs of lore and background you can read while waiting in-between matches or what-have-you. The cinematics that you've seen are really about as much story that players are given, up to this point. Hence the excitement :)

Ingame there were some minor interactions for example each character will say a line related to a character that is near them. Other than that there is pretty much nothing to do with the story.

uuuuh! about book stuff.... please check Witcher books, would be nice to hear what you think about each one. ofc books have much more than this tv show or even all 3 games (and i know you love Witcher). i think will be nice content for Witcher fans and we are too many!

@@HSPaisley I just also heard "Welcome to the playground" song in Episode 1 that plays on the elevator to undercity scene is flagged for copyright claim. As all words of mouth are, I'm not sure how accurate these claims are, especially don't know if those are the full list of flags. Nevertheless, I hope a precaution would be better than going in blind. Cheers!
