It didn’t. You actually never see any character reload a rifle outside of the initial scene in the fountain with the stripper clip. Any time a mosin PU is involved someone makes the reference to enemy at the gates.

Rim lock is the biggest issue. No udea how that would wear out the magazine or internals. It isnt any faster on a standard Mosin, but if you have a scope directly over the magazine that makes it tricky then it's a bit quicker.

You need to hear a krag. It's like butter. One of the most satisfying reloads too. Something about just dumping rounds into the magazine and continuing on your merry is just wonderful

The real reason for the "magazine door" is to make it easier to clean the internals of the magazine and to unload bad ammunition quickly.

You're correct, but they did actually teach to do this sometimes for the scoped mosins as in a pinch it could be faster than hand loading rounds one at a time from the top, as the scope blocked the use of stripper clips with some models. The Brits would teach them to list directly into the removable magazine for the same reason, even though the accepted practice of the time was to treat the removable mag as a fixed mag and load with strippers.

I would imagine it's easier to do this with a Mosin PU, and if you have no stripper clip it's a quick way of dumping ammo into your gun.

Since the 30-06 is a rimless cartridge, it likely WILL work. Loading a rimmed cartridge like this one, the 303, 30-40, etc. you can end up jamming it because the rim could end up behind the cartridge underneath.

For a weapon that was literally thrown together in huge numbers they have lasted well, there are a lot of fully working examples out there, I don't know if that is testament to there robustness or just the sheer number that were produced in WWII but they are still out there.

The clips suck so bad I only use them to keep the shells from rattling around then feed them individually.

originals work fine of you pull up lightly on the bullet of the top round as you press your thumb onto the casing and follow them in. Repro clips tend to fail if they aren't exact replicas. the ones with a tab at each end are the most ineffective.

It's a PU optic for the Mosin. It comes like that

This other dudes allready answered but yeah it's a PU mosin with a few adjustments like the bent action and a cut in the receiver for the scope mount. An original would he very expensive but adjustments to a normal mosin wouldn't be too hard

😂 yep, works just fine!! Before I sold mine, I would load it like that time, just unlock the bottom so I can get open on 2345, literally the Fastest way to load 😮 was just correctly displayed

To the best of my knowledge, they have to be built as PUs because otherwise the bolt would hit the scope.
