Energetically inflated body with ikkyo

Thank you for bringing in daito ryu principals and O Sensei's teachings. Why does Aikikai not have programs to teach what you do? Has Aikikai been running the long con and just teaching techniques cause it's easier and more convenient to do so? After seeing this and what Ikeda sensei and George Ledyard sensei is doing, I suspect Aikikai has not been very forthright with the teachings. Maybe what they are teaching is not OSensei's aikido, anyone think about that?

I suspect that they don't understand how to teach what it is they feel. Perhaps it is a set of soft skills developed after many years of training but they can't put into words what is going on between themselves and the union (aiki) of uke. If this is the case, I wouldn't blame them because aikido done with high mastery is exceedingly soft and very easy to miss the countless subtle details about why something happens. These ideas can be developed intuitively through many years of training and without explicit training; however, master Yoshi is fantastic because he is a teacher who is able to teach these subtle ideas with words allowing students to work on them from an earlier age.

Changing my mindset to move the whole body structure instead of putting power to the point of contact is really difficult. But definitely going to try this from now. Thank you for the video!

I can tell there is a little bit of a cold left in your voice, Yoshi. But there is no cold in your Aikido. Totally relaxed and at peace. :-)

I find this extremely interesting, but equally impossible for me to achieve. It is as if there arises a dilemma/paradox in my mind, whenever I try to do this. My logical brain keeps telling me that I have to put pressure on the point of contact, or else I will not affect the Uke at all. If I try to relax during the move I end up without any structure and the opposite happens where I end up being all mushy in the arms again not affecting Uke. There must be some kind of middle ground, so what kind of practice is Sensei doing to be able to get to that middle ground ?

If you don't mind me asking, how did you discover this kind of thing was even possible ? I mean, most Aikido dojos don't even know this kind of energy exists. By the way this video reminds me very much of what Henry Kono used to do. Although Henry explained it differently it looks almost scary alike.
