Hey Mr. Duckie. I have several of those myself. I do want to mention the gen2 is not as durable as the first generation model. I still have two of the old model and the button cover is now gone off of one of them, but they've been well used and are old. I was so disappointed when I could not find them anywhere. I didn't give up for a while because all the stamping wore off and I didn't really remember what brand and model I'd be looking for lol. . . .In time I found out they where Energizers and starting looking just for that brand and found the generation 2 HFCAP22 model you're reviewing. Because of the wide beam, I really like'm. I enjoy astrophotography and use the lights say 175 out of 365 nights in a year. We're blessed with clear, dark, dry night skies here. Anyway, here is my tests on the generation 2 HPCAP22 model Energizer cap light; Don't drop them on concrete, they may not survive lol. Don't give one to your 10 year old granddaughter to use when she's with you. They may not survive lol. I don't know why the third one went out; it started fading out and in a short time just died. Regarding the fourth one, while I had my cap on backwards polar aligning, it somehow hooked my coat collar and was pulled off, fell on the driveway and the clip on the battery end cap broke off even though it's indented in the body to protect it. Duct tape is keeping it in service lol. Okay, well, they're not as tough as the gen1 but the even wide beam makes HPCAP22 my goto cap light. Even though they're a little pricey, I'll use them until something better comes along. I also like how the red light will turn off without cycling through the white lights first as the case with the gen 1 models. I like the newer slim design. Okay will, your gen 1 model is still brand new. Could you let me know what the model number is on it please Mr. Duckie. . .Thanks for the video . . . .Joe

If you press the button three straight times it goes to a brighter light just like the old style. Much better light than previous model. I own 10-12 of them.
