Hey TJ, that "mesh" detail you mentioned on the figure actually has a technical name. I believe it's known as knurling? It's the same type of detail like what you see on flashlights and various other things I can't remember at the moment. xD

wish i still had this figure use to have him hold the energon weapons as guns and if best wars taught me anything, it's that bug legs and pointed toes can be used as guns blades or bullets, divebomb can do both!

While the cartoons never used Mini-Cons and Powerlinking to their full play potential the Energon Stars are supposed to give the larger Transformers a boost of Energon. I always pretended they were needed to activate their powerlink or hyper modes. Otherwise...yeah, pretty useless.
