I’ll go out on a limb and say that TJ criticizes Transformers better than anyone else. He’s not sensationalistic, he’s not prone to exaggerating. Perhaps most importantly, not overly cynical about our beloved hobby. Even doing back to the Plastic Addict days, there is a level of sincerity and class in all of his content. All of the points in this video are thoughtful and civil. I also happen to agree with every bit.

There's no way that Superion art is AI generated. The small details are too clear and the mirrored bits are consistent across both sides of the character. Even if it was AI generated, I cannot see such a specific part of another toy being perfectly replicated on an unrelated character. If anything, the artist was probably given a prototype of the Superion toy that had Needlenose's parts attached to the arm.

How would ai create a 1:1 recreation of a leg from a completely different toy? That just sounds like an artist looking at another jet to create a toy that doesnt exist. Hook’s right leg looks different because the cartoon design has asymmetrical legs.

If anything, the artist was probably given photos of a Superion prototype with Needlenose bits attached to the arm in place of Fireflight. Considering Fireflight is releasing after Silverbolt, a proper Fireflight prototype did not exist when the Superion box art needed to be made.

well unfortunately that superion thing IS a mistake that ONLY a human artist can make, by the simple fact that it's tangibly, recognizably needlenose's shin piece that isn't garbled by anything else. that's not how "AI" works as it /will/ throw up a vomit of details taken from a bunch of other toys, but it will not be able to preserve a single piece that's still THAT concrete and identical. it's far more likely that the illustrator just doesn't have anything to base that area of superion on so they just referenced a different toy (which afaik had happened in legacy's artwork too/remember how siege hound's artwork had the hot shot head instead) likewise I'm still doubtful that the constructicons' art is AI-generated too, I mean tbh it's mostly still too early to tell but idk how people can accurately analyze the characters' proportion and detailing and stuff when all we have is the packaging being held at an angle by somebody on a camera that barely captures any resolution. the most I can say is that hook's clearly based on his cartoon design (which DOES have some form of asymmetry) and not the actual ss86 toy but that's about it atm I hope this doesn't come off as hostile because I certainly didn't mean it that way, but TJ I feel this is something that you need to claim with more responsible consideration and patience because I'm sure a lot more people will watch this vid and take it as a fact that these ARE confirmed to be AIgen. don't get me wrong, I have no doubt that hasbro will try that bs (and I'm speaking as somebody who genuinely will stop collecting the /second/ it happens) but these two examples aren't it, or at least one isn't while we still need to wait for the other. unfortunately people /immediately/ accusing every piece of artwork as AI-generated is such a prevalent thing these days and understandably so, but a lot of it also falls to people not really understanding how "AI" works and imo we need to recognize that

I agree completely. I'm no fan of AI "art", but I hate when people go and just label something as AI just because it feels off or isn't the best work. I've seen people write off and dismiss artists and films as AI since they have no idea of how to identify something that's been generated.

Some of the sleuths at TFW2005 have spotted that the AOTP statues also include details taken from pre-existing toys, like Alpha Trion has Tarn's hips, and Micronus has Dragstrip's legs, or something. All of them are 1:1, *easily identifiable* recreations of those parts, so it does seem like it's more of the designer doing digibashes, basically, than the illustration being AI-generated.

I am extremely lucky to have a Tidal Wave that didn't have any visible QC issues out of the box, but his tight joints and ratchets making it outright *hurt* to transform him is probably going to be the main thing that increases his lifespan in the long run. Earthspark was a good kids show and had some good kids toys. Too many adults just seam to be upset that something wasn't aimed at them. Core class is sad, Wheelie is a prime example of core done well and I wanted to see more like that. I'm still hoping for some sort of weaponizer/minicon price point that is around core and just goes as good as they can for the size Hasbro seams to be doing a lot of stuff like they're just giving up on the future, they're just going for one quick payday at the cost of there reputation and any future they have.

They have their own streaming channel on KZbin and various free services but reaching kids gets harder as more people part with cable and satellite. My Tidal Wave came with a QC issue I haven't heard anyone else report on: One of the arms had a tab piece where a slot piece should be, meaning I couldn't tab both arms together until I removed that tab piece. He still functions fine and the arms remain secure without that slot piece since they both combine via multiple tabs, but it still kinda sucks I had to do that.

Honest opinion. Earth Spark season 1 was a great show and when I started season 2 I droped it faster then a hot potato. The 180 shift in the writting just hurts so bad, Decepticons are just the bad guys again and everyone in general kinda lost a good chunk of their IQ between the seasons.

One of the first things I noticed about the Age of the Prime's art was Slingshot's vehicle mode art having a lot of weird greebles that the toy itself (thankfully) doesn't. I guess that was also because of AI.

BAMF! Sorry, I can't truly believe the idea that Hasbro would stoop to the lows of AI art. Especially since they have so many great artists behind them. Not to mention that the concept is plausible for Hasbro, they are known for being cheap after all. But. that does not mean they would use such cheap tactics, especially now since Hasbro is already getting a lot of heat for selling overpriced toys and for having a lot of layoffs that almost make Bungie look like a saint. Alongside that, it would make their competitors look even better, especially the likes of Mattel with their art giant that is the MOTU Origins line.

Core class simply didn't sell. It's not the entry to Generations, deluxe is. I haven't seen one kid decide a core over a deluxe to buy The designs for earthspark are generally awful (except for megatron, soundwave and shockwave). Also I hate the kids (and the original two earth created transforms), they are generally annoying and I would rather have the parents to be the shows main humans. The mums story is right there a friendship with megatron, how hasn't that been expanded on

My only disappointment this year is United. While it’s had bright moments (Animated Optimus, Shard, GF Excellion, the Mayhem bugs, Quake), it peaked with its first two waves and went to crap fast. Ironically, the toyline named United suffered from a lack of unity- some characters (Thundertron, Gears, G1 toy Optimus, Sandstorm) were given a strange amount of love despite their obscurity and those who should’ve gotten Animated OP and Cybertron Hot Shot-tier updates (Slipstream, Vector Prime, Prime Breakdown) didn’t. In fact, that’s a problem with the Legacy trilogy as a whole- all three toylines were crippled by designer bias towards certain characters and executives demanding certain molds were shared between characters. Sometimes the design team does brilliant work with what they’re given (Evo Strongarm, United Chromia, United Cliffjumper, Evo Bludgeon), but then you’ve got stuff like Mayhem Breakdown or Evolution Bombshell where the retool feels like they barely tried. In addition, we should’ve had a lot more finished character rosters. Just look at the Prime cast- Legacy gave us Arcee, Bulkhead and Knock Out, Evolution gave us the buff Seeker bros, but United gave us Cliffjumper and Thundertron. Thundertron, who wasn’t even in the show! With how much retailers love seeing A-listers on shelves, you’d think the priority of LegEvoUni would’ve been to get the main characters of each show on shelves. Remember how we got Laser Prime during year 1 of Legacy? What if we got a Prime Optimus instead? But it wasn’t, and the result was Hasbro having to introduce Gamer Edition in Studio Series to keep the mainstays on shelves because all the B-listers in Legacy, Evolution and United took so long to move product because casual fans didn’t know who they were.

Studio Series is running out anytime soon. The deceptions like Devcon or the garbage deception from TF3. Oreobot and other KSI drones. Nitro Zeus,Onslaught, Dreadbot, Knights/Dragon, Infernocus,hound, TF4 + 5 optimus Prime. TF5 Megatron, old tank transformer in TF5, Berserker, TF4 Bumblebee, and all the dinobots except Grimlock. Also Ironhide with his new weapons in DOTM. Also since they are redoing SS bumblebee movie bumblebee we could get more early/bad SS figures redone.

I am so immensely dissapointed in them using generative slop for packaging art. I don't blame the design team, since this is probably a mandate from corporate or the CEO who shall not be named. They have said that it's just packaging samples but I am not buying that it won't be on the final product. I just really hope that Hasbro isn't gonna be pushing this more and more- how long until they force people to use this for design details and greebles on figures? To design new characters? To engineer the toys? That combined with the price creep and corporate greed on that final product is easily one of my least favorite things this year.

Commander + commander is 90 + 90 which is 180, then about 25 for the deluxe, so 200, 50 for all the extra engineering since it’s a Haslab. It adds up perfectly to me

@CarnoReviews There is no "extra engineering", there is no Deluxe included, just some effects parts, and Commanders shouldn't be $90 in the first place.

The extra engineering would be the stability and stuff for the combine mode, ensuring ratchets are tight and stuff. There also aren’t any effects parts with this guy, and there is a pack in deluxe (bluebolts), are you talking about a different Haslab by chance? Like victory Saber?

Looking at their upcoming Star Optimus, that figure doesn't look like it's worth $150 to me. It's simple in design. The Hot Rod figure is a cheap core class. People think an Omega Prime could be done justice at less than that?! No way. I'm not happy about the cost for him but Hasbro would just make a crappy version at a much lower price.

@@CarnoReviews Bluebolts is a glorified effects part, only thrown in to artificially bump up the price. And you can't seriously say that it's gonna have tight joints when Hasbro can't even guarantee that for their more expensive figures.
