Energon Slugslinger

To be honest this is on of the worst figures I own. Old TFWire listeners know my hatred of this figure.

While the transformation didn't go so well.... and parts keep popping undone... he's still one of the coolest LOOKING figures I ever got. The jet mode with two noses, the long wings and shoulder cannon in robot mode, the modest body proportions.... I know looks alone aren't a very good reason to get a figure, but I am glad I got this guy. Just wish transforming him wasn't so darn tricky.

The jet mode is cool looking and the robot mode is cool as well, too bad it is as floppy as a Magikarp.

Ambitious and complex...certainly not the bet figure from the era but it's not as bad as this review makes it out to be.

Ouch... I love this figure. :( I keep him on my Classics shelf as a Classics Slugslinger. He does have his issues but I can look past them. He looks great with PCC Hufffer's mini-con, though. It's like it was custom made for him (even sharing the name of the original's targetmaster) and at least gives him another shot of maybe having folks warm up to him.

Using a very small bit on a dremil tool to slightly deeper places for the pegs will help in pegging the parts into place. I used to have robots with similar issues. I took them apart, dremilled out the peg holes and put them back together. Now pegs beautifully

I like it, I like it a lot actually. The transformation isn't much more involved than your average ROTF figure, his vehicle mode is appeasing, his robot mode is appeasing, the only problem is how sloppily it was put together.Yeah, it's loose, but I've seen worse.

I disagree. I love this figure. Easily one of my top five figures from the Energon line. The only thing I dislike about him is the sneer that's molded onto his face.

I am actually modding this guy now. I have "fixed the cannon issue" as in completely removed it, I clipped all of the landing gear because it was honestly useless, I am working on a new head, and I am attempting to fix the joints ( the legs have now gained stability) Any suggestions would be great

when i watch this to me it sounds like (and dont take affence to this) you've made your desishion and you realise the kit isnt all that bad and you try and force that tone of anoyance because you actualy like it, the only real problem is the arms not staying in witch you could fix by drilling the holes all the way threw and just cut the landing gear off with plyers, its a verry simple fix and i think you just got stubern and wont admit that its not bad(again no affence)

i think its a good figure, its matter of hasbro's quallity control, not the figure itself i think you said thath the botcon airazor repaint fixed the molds problems, so its not tha bad if this figure wasnt that "floppy" you would like it?

I had this, and ended up giving it to my brother in law. It was just so fiddly and crappy looking. I hated the paint job on it too---I initially bought it with a bunch of others I didn't have, thinking "Oh this could be fun." He was the one I hated the most. Too many folding bits, and the bland and odd looking green/blue/orange just made me tired of even looking at him!

I lucked out. He's not that loose on mine. But it certainly isn't the greatest design ever. I wanted to try him and see for myself, thinking I'd make him my SG Slugslinger if I'd not mind his faults too much.

Shaun Blyth No, it's not. It's based in G1 Slugslinger who was not supposed to be a real jet either.

floor polish or something, i love the design and i of course prefer the airazor repaint, and honestly TOO many hasbro figures here and there dont peg, or dont hold together as they should, and one just end up using either floor polish , or nail polish or super glue and problem solved

i actually had one of these guys i actually enjoyed it he was my favorite i had him with me everywhere it did make me sad when i droped him...out of a moving vehicle and he exploded...oops but mine held up perfectly

What's wrong with armada prime? I have him and I prefer him over most of my transformers. I guess I'm a sucker for combiners. The other two combiners I have is rotf devastator(megazord) and rotf/???? Superion Maximus(not that great)

Baltmatrix, I hope you found this thing at a thrift store for $0.50, I bought mine at Walmart for $10 and I still want my money back and the gas I wasted getting there. In a way it's kind of hilarious because of how many parts this thing had. Honestly believe if it had less moving parts it wouldn't suck so bad.

Meh...I understand the hint in this though...Personally I don't like Armada figures myself; even though those are the ones I got first. Optimus looks cool, but is just plain boring, really, just as (far too) many other Armada figures. Though I do like Jetfire and Red Alert and some of those minicons are really fun; like Sparkplug for example. But overall Armada and Energon didn't have that many great figures IMO.
