Would you have a 4-minute shower as a way to save money? 🤔 Yes or No and why?
@dazedconfuseds
@dazedconfuseds 2 жыл бұрын
No cos I wouldn't feel clean. It would make me want to shower again in the evening. I have on average 8-10min shower once a day.... I don't have the shower running btw. I turn it on for about 2-3min to rinse the soap off Other ways to save money: If you have a free gym membership through work scheme, shower there or shower at work, if the office has showers.

Yes definitely! Quick rinse, wet hair. Turn water off. Do whatever you need to do in terms of shampoo, body wash, shave... turn water back on again to rinse off... job done, minimal water wastage.

Great stuff Ken! You can surely have a good scrub up in 2-3 minutes with a soapy exfoliating hand mitten😂 Start from the face down and you're good 🤣I think It's definitely more about how you spend your time in the shower and not 'time in the shower'. Love your videos! I can have a quick shower under 5 minutes, but I must say, the feeling of hot water running of the skin on a cold day is wonderful🤤

4min 🚿 !. I worship the shower especially after a long shift. I will start by trying to bring it down to 10mins.

You two are top notch! Careful about the cavity wall insulation, lots of complications can arise from installing it, like damp.

I've also heard of Ripple, which is crowdfunding for building a windfarm and you get your payback in the form of cheap electricity when it is generating (which is looking like the end of 2023). It only works with certain companies, but they are currently fundraising for an 8 turbine windfarm, which may be of interest to some of your viewers.

Hi Ken, good video as usual. We've had solar for 6 years and it has been pretty good. Modern panels are more powerful, but if you are thinking of getting it done you really should also look at battery storage so that you can get every last bit of energy generated used by you and you can still be powered by the sun long after it has gone dark. With some companies (like Octopus) you can opt for per half hour pricing and do things like ask the battery (or car) to charge when it is cheap and use it when it is more expensive. I think some of the batteries also do things like charge fully before a storm hits so you are better able to cope with power cuts. Unfortunately battery storage wasn't really an option when we got the panels done.

Put it this way without battery you'd be selling excess power for about 4p kWh and buying it back in the evening at about 25p KWh, which doesn't make as much sense as using all you generate.
