I'm sure the Aether absolutely exists and has zero density. The concept of something existing with no mass seems greatly counter-intuitive but the fact is electromagnetic fields absolutely exist and are measurable, but have zero mass, the field has to be travel through something. Aether and gravity are intertwined. It's amazing to think that absolutely everything in the universe not only orbits around another object, but really everything is orbiting around each other. The gravitational field that exists between earth and an object on the other side of the universe would be beyond tiny, but it exists, and due to there been zero friction in the Aether, this miniscule force does act on these bodies. Every object in the universe is connected by a force of energy.

It’s seems common sense to me that as it is with every single medium. A wave cannot travel if there is no medium to pass through. In space light travels and it changes color and wave length depending what medium it is going through. It almost seems like common sense to believe that space is simply not empty, but rather filled with different particle at different temperatures and pressures. A “new kind of medium” for light and other things to travel through.

But we are taught at senior school level, that it isn't empty though. It's filled with subatomic particles. At the very very least, you were taught that those particles that come off the sun (the solar wind) are the reason that a comet's tail points away from the sun. There is a big difference between failing to detect something vs. proving it doesn't exist. The ether provides a very simple way to explain what Electric Fields and Magnetic Fields are made of, why some "particles" are massless, removes the duality of light mystery, and what gravity is. It also makes it easy to discuss longitudinal propagation at speeds much higher than the traditional speed of light. However it means putting away a century of superstitious belief systems embedded in Physics. It is very embarrassing and inconvenient.... The mathematics works both ways.

Proposing an aether explains nothing at all. Early aether ideas were just abstract analogous models from our everday circumstances in attempting to model known phenomenon. As time went on this concept of the aether grew so vague. . . its the vacuum particles, the Higgs field, Spacetime, the electromagnetic field. . . that you could define it as: Aether: thing that does the thing we observe. In reality such a concept is useless in this respect and the only way it wouldn't be is if you proposed a new mathematical/abstract model. . . but this wouldn't be unique to aether models and the concept of an aether would have proved to be useless in proposing successful models. As it all boils down to not what phenomenon are but what they do and how we can predict this.

I have been searching for this for about 6 years now. Michaelson-Morley has underlying assumptions which are never articulated that perfectly explain why one would expect to achieve the null result. The Michelson Morley experiment failed to detect an ether wind. The experiment was not designed to detect the ether. There is no known way to detect the ether itself. All electromagnetic phenomena, including light, are ether perturbations. We observe with ether perturbations and therefore cannot detect the ether. Can we use sound to detect air? Can we use sonar to detect water? No to both. The Michelson Morley experiment had a faulty premise.

Wes Baumguardner Not necessarily true. We don’t understand the mechanism for potential transition of energy. Who said it is composed of transverse EM style Wave Functions. The fact that Tesla demonstrated ‘Super Luminal’ velocities exist, one would assume the information transfer was carried out through this field. There are several books written on the topic of the underlying principles and numerous equations regarding electromagnetic energy conversions. People pretend these books do not exist today. Electromagnetism requires an ether. Without it, there can be no causal relations between electromagnetic phenomena. However, as I said earlier, electromagnetic phenomena are all ether perturbations and thus cannot detect the ether itself because they consist of the ether. Trying to do so is much like trying to use water waves to prove water exists. There are two possible ways which superluminal speeds may be attained, contrary to relativism. The first, which I know Tesla used is longitudinal waves which propagate faster than the transverse waves of light because the initiating disturbance is in the same direction as the wave (whereas transverse waves have a 90 degree angle to the initiating disturbance.) The other is to have a time or space scalar. Either are possible in electromagnetic theory. Direct current electricity is a time scalar because it is nothing more than electrostatic pressure, much like water coming out of a hose as soon as the spigot is turned. Space scalars are much more complicated and information on them is difficult to acquire. It is quite possible Tesla used time or space scalars, but I have not found any information to confirm this.

Stwven B Bryant's "Disruptive" is a must read. He shows that Michelsen-Morley DID detect the aether. The result was 7 km/s which in not zero. There was a calculation error in the data conversion. When adjusted the result was 34 km/s when the prediction was 33 km/s. There has to be an aether. Exactly the conclusion of the video even if MMX was not fully understood. The fact that MMX is understood should end the discussion.

M&M didn’t understand light wave and Aether enough have committed to design and ran experiments with a negative results, as expected. All electromagnetic and light wave requires a medium (dielectric) to propagate. It is e0 in Maxwell’s equation. The instance we let air infiltrate the experiment then air becomes the medium and not Aether. Aether exists in absolute empty space with a measurable dielectric constant e0 of 8.8541817128 pF/meter. At this point of writing, Aether’s properties are not fully understood. We can’t insert jars of low pressure vessel as part of M&M’s apparatus on earth to validate the apparatus for Aether compliance because Aether in it moves as much as the jar moves. Unless the whole experiment is space far from any galaxies, spiral arm, molecular clouds or cosmic plasma to make result conclusive. Besides that Aether is a dielectric medium in the local space can be dragged along with the interferometer.

Michelson-Morley report this “we are 99.9% sure that the Earth’s velocity is between 6km/s and 10km/s”. While the absolute error is (30-8)=22km/s. On the other hand, the absolute error may be (8-0)km/s, leaving the theory of Relativity is only 1% correct. Drawn from my own observation, the claim of c in SR as universal constant (regardless of observer, source, relative location and velocity all will experience the same c), that contradicts Doppler’s equation for red shift. If Einstein’s SR is right on c then Hubble’s red shift is wrong, mutually exclusive.

The Michael and Morley experiment was designed to investigate whether the ether is immobile or driven by the rotational motion of the Earth. The rotation movement of the Earth around its axis was used and it was destined to fail, because the rays followed exactly the same path when leaving and returning, therefore the possible effects were canceled. I understood this from high school and I kind of annoyed the physics teacher. Despite the main stream science, today I believe that the ether exists and is the medium for the propagation of electromagnetic waves.

In chemistry, we assume the electrons are arranged in different shells around the nucleus, not because that is the truth, but this model can help us to understand the common chemical process. If later one day we get the technology to take pictures of those electrons, we can improve on this model, or bring up a new model. When trying to explain light as a wave, there is no better way than assuming light has a medium. As for the Michelson-Morley experiment, it did not prove that aether does not exist, but only showed there is no relative motion between Aether and Earth. The length contraction is another explanation, but unless you can tell me why this contraction exactly cancelled out the relative motion between Aether and Earth, I won't take it seriously.

What isn’t considered in the question of an aether is that the pulsing motion of atomic nuclei generate varying densities of aether to form a concentric series of spherical, constructive standing waves extending from each nuclei outward in all directions. These spherical standing waves of aether act as the structure of matter. Since aether is continually being resorted into these material structures by each nuclei in existence more than nine billion times every second, it’s not hard to see why an apparatus, itself constructed of pulsing atoms, would have simply reordered the aether it was passing through into and around each of these atoms many times faster than the earths progression through the universe. The Michelson Morley experiment would have shown nothing.

The speed of light is actually “the rate of induction “ in the ether or medium. If it is constant, and it seems to be , then a change in the rate of induction ( in the medium) would not be detected in this experiment. In much the same way that light doesn’t propagate faster when a laser is shot from a space ship, it remains the same.

Thank you for the history. Interesting, I did not know all of that history. However, you have one part of the history in error, which understanding may help you immensely: originally, the Michelson/Morley experiment was to determine if the aether drifted with the earth, or if the earth drifted through it. After all if it is indeed responsible for Gravity (Isaac Newton), it must follow the earth a bit, stuck with the larger pieces yet still invisibly small pieces. The detection of no drifting through it was thought to answer this original question. Only later did some people start believing that this somehow proved no aether. I still can't find the reason why people stopped believing in aether! But they always point to that experiment, not realizing that, that very experiment proves the aether. For if the particles of the aether were not real, like everything else, then yes they would be unaffected by the sun and the earth, but no, these particles are real and are effected by the earth's gravity (and are responsible for it) just like everything else. But I'll try to make a connection if that's helpful. Everything truly can be described as energy and there is a simple law in physics that energy is always conserved. It transfers forms. So, for example, my body needs energy for me to move, or think, or for the internal processes that are going on inside me even if I'm motionless. This comes from stored energy of foods we eat where the chemical processes in our bodies are essentially re-arranging atoms and molecules to release the energy. That stored energy in foods like plants, comes from the Sun and its light (photons) which carry energy and absorbed by plants in the photosynthesis process. I could go on about how the Sun creates photons from gravitational energy, but hopefully the point is already illustrated that everything is a conservation of energy that transfers forms.

The similarity I see between aether and dark matter, is the way that both models came about. Nobody began by observing aether or dark matter and then went on to ask the question, “what is this thing?” Instead, what was observed in either case were certain troubling phenomena which the existing physical models didn’t account for. Aether and dark matter are then brought in to plug the gaps. I’m not sure how the dark matter question will turn out, but it’s safe to say that we’re in for a major overhaul if we finally fail to observe it.

This is rather simple. The Michelson/Morley experiment failed to detect the Earth's magnetic field, which is a strong force, blocking a weak force (aether wind). When you spin an interferometer horizontal (side/side), you won't get a phase differential, but if yku spin it vertically (up/down), you get a phase differential, due to the EM pressure of the Earth's magnetic field.

If the aether does exist, then it has to have exotic properties to explain the speed of light and the amplitude of said waves being visible light years away (this is nothing like sound propagating through particles). Of course, if matter is light's source, then matter must be an alternative form of energy in said aether. The only alternative form of energy in addition to waves would be rotational fields. Of course, this would reveal more about aether because the size of those vortexes is small, which when coupled with their stability seems to suggest a lack of drag. Furthermore, if aether is just a featureless ocean out of which particles exist, then it would be improper to describe it as having things like temperature and viscosity because those emerge from particles interacting. This makes predicting the aether very difficult because it would be rash to assert that it would behave anything like sound moves through air. This leaves the door open for aether to exist if the presence of particles influences the aether to exist in discrete amounts that move in synchronization with particles. Meaning, there would be no relative motion between Earth and aether. It'd be like trying to measure the speed of an airplane or a car by sound interference where the temperature and pressure is constant.

If a) spacetime is the medium for electric and magnetic waves to travel, and b) radio waves are a specific frequency of transverse electromagnetic waves, and c) matter is standing, longitudinal waves, then I would suggest that radio waves can influence matter or other EM waves, but not spacetime. Spacetime is the medium for waves to travel, but any of the waves within spacetime could affect each other. For example, radio waves can cause motion of matter (electrons in an antenna). I have not considered the Aharanov-Bohm effect. But as a variation of the double slit experiment, I think the double slit needs to be explained first. I genuinely think it's not infinite, I think it has a limit, cuz nature must have a limit, we see finite LIMITS in EVERYTHING, and that the limit of the ether should be about the size of the cosmos ! The rules for an aether theory - 1/ Photon Momentum must be conserved 2/ The speed of light relative to the aether is always c. Let us consider, according to the MM Experiment, that aether is entirely dragged. This means that as a photon approaches the earth perpendicularly that it would encounter aether moving perpendicular to it. So the assumption has always been that this would mean that a photon would be “blown” in that direction. In that case, it has a component of velocity added laterally, but to maintain c that would mean that it's velocity component toward earth would need to decrease. But how could that happen? There is no force opposing the photon! For the photon to change direction would mean we break the law of conservation of momentum. The momentum can only change if the component of velocity toward earth is decreased, and again, there is no force present to do that. Energy travelling in a medium is not a feather blowing in a breeze! Aether cross winds do not effect photons. If there is an aether it will lead to space travel when we learn how to swim in it (propeller). We have been fools to allow our gaze to be taken off aether!

It's funny how in physics they avoided the aether and yet proposed similar concepts dark matter string theory! I think Einstein was partially right about things moving very fast and how they become pure energy things like light that move fast interact with something that seems out of phase from matter! It makes me wonder if everything is energy and the matter that we interact with is traveling slower creating voids where it exists and the energy creates a repulsion field which means empty space has more energy than matter which makes planets mostly made of empty space!

The Michelson Morley experiment did not fail to detect an Aether wind. It detected a very low movement. But that is significant because there isn't NO movement. The Aether was just mathematically removed. It wasn't discarded. Think about the Sagnac effect. The Aether is there, it's just mis-described. What if the Earth is stationary and this energy is the source of 'gravity' and why everything we see in the sky moves.

The Ether has not been disproven and Relativity is just an optical illusion. Einstein's theory of Special Relativity is based on 2 premises 1) Galilean Relativity: the laws of physics are the same in all inertial frames of reference 2) the speed of light is the same in all inertial frames of reference. I claim that the 2nd premise is already included in the 1st premise. This is because the speed of light c is a law of physics, and according to the 1st premise it must be the same in all inertial frames of reference. Another way of stating the 1st postulate, is that there is no experiment that can be done to determine the speed of an inertial moving body. So the 2nd postulate must be included in the 1st postulate, otherwise one could do an experiment based on the speed of light to determine the velocity of a moving inertial observer (like the Michelson Morley experiment). The 1st postulate predicts the Michelson Morley experimental outcome, and it can not measure the effects of the Ether! So if the 2 premises of Special Relativity are just the premise of Galilean Relativity, then according to logic, it is impossible to get different transformations (Lorentz transformations) than one gets for Galilean Relativity (Galilean transformations). Consequently Galilean Relativity must be the correct theory of Relativity. So if the effects of Relativity are observed in experiments, then the effects of Relativity must be an optical illusion. Here is another simple logical argument showing Relativity has built in logical fallacy, and a theory with a logical fallacy in the theory is by definition wrong no matter how many people believe in it, or how many experiments support it.According to Relativity, observers on a moving train and on a stationary train platform will disagree on the size of the ""Train"" and the passage of time on the ""Train"". This is a complete logical contradiction if the size and the passage of time of the train are real. If the size of the train is real, then the ""Train"" can not be both contracted and not contracted. The same goes for the observed passage of time on the ""Train"". If these effects are observed, then the only possible conclusion is that it is an optical illusion. Things that are real must appear to be same from all frames of reference. If not, then by definition it is an illusion. Again the argument is very simple and it is the argument Einstein used to derive Relativity, and no acceleration is used in the argument. A train with length (L) traveling at constant velocity (v) relative a stationary observer on a station platform. According to Relativity, the stationary observer will see the train contracted (L/r, where r is the Relativistic gamma), whereas an observer on the train will see it not contracted (L). So the train is both contracted (L/r) and not contracted (L) depending on the observer. This is a complete contradiction (L not equal L/r) and can not be true if length is real. The same argument applies to passage of time on the Train, where both observers will disagree on the passage of time. If time is real, it can not be both dilated and not dilated (T not equal rT). This simply does not add up. Aether as a medium for waves is consistant with all physical phenomenon we experience, yet, no scientist (except Nikola Tesla could figure out how the Aether could work with electricity, even doing experiments that proved electricity was more than chargeed partiles.. So, lacking the imagination to conceive of how Aether could be there, they instead decide waves can travel without a medium ( by magic). And everyone agreed. Why? Not because it makes sense, but because, when Tesla proved it was there and that he could manipulate the Ether to do what matter was doing, he took matter out of the equation of all industrial systems which would devalue the wealth of anyone invested in a monopoly of any commodity; also put the value of any commodity at risk, a quickly made Ether wave (for free) could replace that commodity... So, for a few dollars and control of untold billions of people, Ether was rejected. Mankind did not need free, clean energy and endless abundance for billions of lives on the planet, so keep on keeping on polluting the planet and exhausting the natural resources and destroying the natural beauty and eliminating the diversity of life... Solar is a good example of clean energy which can be harnessed, yet companies have figured out a way to capitalize on it for revenue by selling the hardware that collects this energy. My point is that the two can coexist. Solar is certain frequencies (light) of electromagnetic waves traveling from the Sun to the Earth. To your point, waves should travel in a medium (aether). We just can't see it, nor understand it, so it was concluded that it doesn't exist. Once we do have a better grasp of it, I believe we'll have many more practical applications that can harness energy.
