VERY helpful! Be sure and use the plastic tools (I got them for $6 on Amazon). Be CAREFUL with panel #3 (the first panel he removes after moving the camera to the passenger side). I believe that one is the most difficult. I broke one T and two of the three shorter plastic clips. Look at the direction of the clips after he removes each panel. Also, be sure to pay attention to both his hands b/c sometimes he twists the panel but it isn't obvious b/c he's very good at it.

OK, job is complete. Like you, I broke 2 T getting it off. It was so type the broken piece was still inside the car. I had to use vise grips to get it out. I used a two part poxy to put them back on. The silver panel went on fine. Not as easy as the video for sure. Does make a big difference in sound though

Thanks to this tutorial I was able to spruce up the dash a little bit by adding some vinyl wrap to the shiny black parts didn't have enough guts to do the radio though!

Did you ever do the speaker upgrade video. I have this car model year 2021 and I'm adding the amp as soon as my axxess harness comes in and this video was a huge help in learning to take the dash apart. Thank you for that. Don't want to just rush in and start taking the doors apart, if you know what I mean

I'm having a lot of trouble taking off the long silver piece on the passenger side. It looks like the little clips on the top are undone but it's not popping out at all. It's still very tight

It might help if the car is very warm. Plastic is softer whenit is warm.

Man, I don't know how you popped those panels off so easily. I bought your guy's amplifier kit and tool set and am in the middle of working the project now... I nearly snapped the bone tool trying to get the long silver piece off and I broke 3 of its clips while doing it! They sure didn't make it easy to disassemble. I just couldn't seem to get the same leverage that you did...the panel (or tool) would just bend regardless of where I put the tool. Any recommendations?

Update: project finished. The rest of the process went very well with no further broken pieces. I used 2-part epoxy for plastic to fix the trim pieces and they went on just fine. Man, installing that amplifier makes a neck of a difference! Thanks for the videos and products!

Is it possible that you were working outside and the plastic was very cold? Heat always helps.

Thanks this was a big help. Adding a amp line out, can i use same color wires for left right as the last gen jetta? Purple and green for speakers ( pos side ) red 12v brown ground. Still same?

I would recommend getting our break out harness for an amp. But do not power an amp off the radio harness. We do with a pioneer amp but its draws little power. enfigcarstereo.com/ENFIG_AAI4_VW16.html

Unfortunately VW has become very secretive with their diagrams in the last few years. New cars don't even come with fuse box diagrams anymore.

Is there an adapter for the usb that allows to come out of an aftermarket head unit and attach to the factory usb connector?

I don't really understand your question. But I think you are asking if there is an adapter to use the factory USB with an aftermarket radio. But since there are car functions on that radio there is currently no way to replace it.

I’m currently installing this upgrade on my Jetta r line but I’m really having trouble removing the long silver panel. I purchased all the tools you used in the video but I’m still struggling with that one long panel. I’m in Florida so the cold is not an issue. Any recommendations?

Some newer VWs do not have any stereo components in the glovebox. My VW does not have a CD player either. It has a SD slot, Apple car play, Android auto, mirror link and just plain Bluetooth.
