It’s #TillerTuesday! 🐍
Fort Myers Fire Department’s Ti11er is the first #TDA in their city!
The crew cab has easy to-clean vinyl floors and provides ample space for their firefighters and storage for electronics. The transverse compartment on the rear of the cab will be used to store the engineer’s equipment and EMS equipment. Within the first transverse compartment on the driver’s side of this #AscendantTDA, a two-way sliding tool board will provide tool storage. A body compartment includes a transverse tray which can extend out on either side of the apparatus. Rubber rails allow for inlayed emergency lighting for a flush appearance on this #TractorDrawnAerial. The rear transverse compartment is reserved for housing the stokes basket and tactical rescue equipment. To enhance the tillerman’s visibility, angles surrounding the rear wheels have been optimized to improve visibility when navigating narrow roads. The steps ascending to the tillerman’s cab are aligned with the cab door, providing a clear and safe path to the seat. A convex mirror, supported by an arm, steadies the mirror during travel on uneven surfaces. An intake on both sides is positioned to receive water from another apparatus on scene. A 360-degree camera system ensures maximum visibility on scene including stabilizer setup. To maximize firefighter safety and efficiency, saw scabbards and aerial controls are mounted on the end of the aerial. The roof and ground ladders are positioned to be retrieved from ground level to further optimize functionality and safety on scene. #FortMyersFL
