Not gonna lie, this stalker meta looks stupid. Mass stalkers, suicide blink them onto things and a-move, warp in more with 15 gateways, do it again. Defeat higher tech armies with attrition before they can rebuild. The casters try to announce it like it's more complex but... I get it, exploiting the fact Terran needs time to rebuild. It's just so cancerous to think that micro and player skill doesn't matter once you get enough gateways and derpstalker in. Watching Protoss treat stalkers like swarm host locusts is so... sigh. The worst part about it is that Protoss are in such a weird place right now that if they refined stalker gameplay then Protoss would be back in that awkward place a few years ago where they were just cheese or lose, AKA the meta that forged Has.
@dukevallenheim92624 жыл бұрын
Nailed it. And it has been a style for a long time. I mean, I follow Sc2 E-sports for years now and I immediately recognized this style when I think it was sOs but something tells me he was more of an obscure Korean Sc2 pro. Anyway, I recognized this flaw in the game design and figured this is why people don't go mech'donalds but it's making a come back. TaeJa at the end of Game 3 vs. Super should've build two bunkers on front of his tank line with his infantry that he built. He had like 10 marines. It's possible that was his plan, I don't understand the two missile turrets at third for Observer deterrence. If he had a few bunkers and the Cyclones behind the Hellbats and Marines in bunkers he could've held but Super saw his horrible army positioning and leapt on him. His plan I think originally was the flank that Artosis was talking about.
@fuzzwobble4 жыл бұрын
@@dukevallenheim9262 It's tough because the stalker collapse in doesn't even have to trade well, as you immediately have another collapse in of stalkers seconds later. If they just thin out an army they can overwhelm it, and by the time the Terran reproduces an army the Protoss has reinforced the next stalker wave and can just repeat it. Build up minerals, build up gateways, get a warp prism, get warp gates, free win. The only counter I've seen has been abysmal stalker micro where they sit under liberators and don't target fire them down.

S. Korea is and always has been hostile to the LGBT community. Same sex relationships are considered illegal and was upheld by their supreme court in 2017 - though they are rarely prosecuted these days, it is possible to receive a 1 year sentence for a same-sex relationship.
@Renjico004 жыл бұрын
@@vhulheim I understand that Asians are more reserved and traditional, I'm Asian myself...and I do understand that Asians may look at the LGBT community in a different way...but that host in probably in her twenties, in pains me to see someone that young still look at people the traditional way...who is she to judge what kind of person is Scarlett... Scarlett can choose whatever she wants to be, she doesn't need to hide it just because people might not feel different about it. This is a international game show being broadcast across the globe, if people saw how the host doesn't even look at the person she's talking to, people are going to view Koreans as judgmental type of race just because someone is different. It's a bad look for GSL imho, but that's just me.

Taeja play better strategically than Maru except for that stupid Hellbat build but the reason he lose is that he don't do some simple thing like literally spend 1 sec to right click on an hatchery to finish it.
@adrianbundy32494 жыл бұрын
Strategically? The reason he is out of the tournament, is because of his silly misunderstandings of mech vs the build of super. If he simply understood the strategic thing to do with what he had, he would have won those fairly easily. His micro is somewhat great at times, but he misses some critical things, like the hatch you mentioned, or that bane hit. I just don't think he has it all together yet. He definitely needs to polish his TvP.

Serral - 0 IEM, 0 Dreamhack, 0 WESG, 0 Code S (not even qualified) goat? apart from 1 blizzcon and several show matches, he has only won tournaments consisting of pure foreigners. He is very good sure; but tournament record is one that should matter if we talk about GOAT. You have to beat everyone when it matters to be the greatest.
@Sapreme4 жыл бұрын
taeja and polt were the same, they pretty much only played foreign tournaments but you dont see the same comparison with them. Why would Serral try to qualify for Code S when he doesnt want to live in Korea to play SC2? That's like saying Tyson Fury is a garbage boxer because he didn't compete in the olympics. I don't even like Serral, but its hard to deny that he was one of the best/is the best zerg in lotv. He 3-1'd TY, Trap, Classic, in super tournament, and 2-0'd Cure, TY, and sOs 3-1'd Innovation at katowice. He also completely smashed Maru twice in two different occasions during the time when they were both considered to be the strongest players on the planet.
@cirruscloud47994 жыл бұрын
@@Sapreme smashed Maru twice?? I only know of him winning a 1-0 against Maru once. And Maru smashed 3-0 Serral once. Maybe you can give me the matches where he smashed Maru.
@wotwot68684 жыл бұрын
@@Sapreme 1) "Pure foreigners" , not "foreign tournament". Foreign tournaments were pretty much Korean tournaments back then; or at least 50%. Certainly not the same as Korean-banned WCS circuits. 2) Nobody is saying "garbage boxer" or player. I even said that he is very good. 3) Can you link me the "super tournament" he was in? 4) Can you also link me "twice" he defeated Maru? I only recall GSL vs the World showmatch in a best of 1. He lost to Maru 0:3 in best of 5 in WESG. His win for the IEM EU qualifier is stretching it as that was played in EU server. 5) Katowice? He never won any championships. Never even reached the finals. Sure he beat a lot of top Koreans, so did Neeb and Scarlett. 6) Not too familiar with Boxing. However, it's objectively true that GSL Code S is the hardest tournament of all. Tournaments where Koreans are allowed, you don't see any foreigners go past round of 8. Serral has done well by achieving top 4 a lot of the time, but that's it, foreigners still foreigners; although by living in Korea, they've improved a ton. Except for Serral which is impressive. 7) "doesnt want to live in Korea" is not an excuse. I respect his choice. However, we are talking about GOAT; not player's living preferences. This is not saying however that qualifying for Code S is a must. Winning Blizzcon twice (like s0s) is an achievement, winning any IEM, Dreamhack, WESG is also an achievement. Korean banned-WCS circuits as well; but I'd argue that those are minor tournaments - and Neeb probably has comparable record for that. Again, with these kind of arguments, my main argument is ignored. Let me repeat: Tournament record is one that should matter if we talk about GOAT. You have to beat everyone when it matters the most. "matters the most" in my opinion is prize money. And in the case of Code S, it's the achievement. Again, please respond to my arguments. Don't ignore them.
@fuzzwobble4 жыл бұрын
In his prime I saw him come out of nowhere to carry the entire foreign team and convincingly snap all the Koreans in half in GSL vs The World. It was actually rather disgusting, to the point of making people saw him as an antagonist to be defeated for over a year and started calling him a sith lord (partly due to the meme of his resting face and the red/dark lighting he seemed to always be under). The commentary afterwards featured the Koreans reeling and confused. They were saying things like "He had no weaknesses, what could we do?", "I thought he was just lucky but it kept happening", "The zerglings to spot ... others will do this too now".
@wotwot68684 жыл бұрын
@@fuzzwobble Yeah indeed that was incredible. However, I'd argue that unknown strong players consistently have an advantage of being unknown. And it would just be a matter of time when players start paying attention to the VODs. And this verified with his 0 championships (apart from 1 blizzcon) in succeeding Premier tournaments where Koreans are not banned. The show match GSL vs the World was also ran in the midst of a GSL Code S tournament, I doubt players would show their hands in the showmatches.

how tasteles its still casting,the worst caster ever he just have no idea of the game i bet i didnt played sc2 ever,honestly would prefer to watch this in korean ,artosis is great i feel sad for him
@JaharNarishma4 жыл бұрын
Short answer: A vast majority of players are entertained by him. You are part of the minority. Looking more general than just SC2 commentary, sports commentary is often one expert and one commenter. Tasteless is the commenter. Artosis is thoroughly entertained by having Tasteless there. Please refrain from posting hurtful comments without any argument supporting your point of view. Longer answer: I'm going to break your comment into its parts and argue them all: "how tasteles its still casting" - There is both a public demand and for AfreecaTV it would serve no purpose to change a working formula. "the worst caster ever" - His popularity is empirical evidence of the opposite "he just have no idea of the game" - That is an exageration. He does not know the names of things, but he does know about player styles, standard strategies, proxy locations, map specific strategies etc. He is not the most knowledgeable, but he does know a lot. "i bet i didnt played sc2 ever" - Whether or not you played the game doesn't matter for any of this. This leads me to believe that you meant that Tasteless never played the game. He did, he was on team EG and played a bit (though he was mainly a manager of EG's SC2 division). "honestly would prefer to watch this in korean" - Nobody is stopping you. "artosis is great i feel sad for him" - Have you not noticed how much joy Tasteless brings Artosis in every cast? There are times when Artosis is muted because he can't stop laughing at something Tasteless said. How can that be sad for Artosis? Artosis has got the Pylon show for true nerdiness while game commentary is entertainment. Artosis has got both parts.
@alexs.91924 жыл бұрын
Hey come on man, Tasteless is more of a showman/entertainer rather than a caster... Artosis is the more analytical one and indeed knows the game a lot better. Overall I think they are a great duo, they complement each other very well and have really good chemistry. Sometimes they also make hilarious jokes, sometimes they are annoying as well...
@andersbjorkman86664 жыл бұрын
Sir please just watch this in Korean and refrain from commentating in GSL English section ever again. Thank you.
@emangination4 жыл бұрын
I would agree that Tasteless is not as analytical as before but I think that makes up his cues and color commentary. He and Artosis are for me the best e-sport casting duo in the biz. Yeah even better than Tobiwan and Synd.
