If there is another 3 hours added it makes it impossible to be like okay there is 30 mins left of the video going into the last game. @ZenPhilosopher123 Nah, I meant pro players when not in tournament games I've seen it. Not me doing it. It probably has more to do with the exact scenario needed for it to even be attempted. It'd need to be a pvz with vipers and no detection while you also have sentries in your army and you remember to even try it at the exact moment. While also being a recorded game in a tournament. Keeping in mind that many viper games include spamming spore colonies on the front lines. It could just be that the conditions needed to all line up perfectly almost never happen so statistically we haven't come across it yet in a tourney game. Trap vs Dark in general. Game 1: If he had researched storm much earlier, how would the game have become? Game 3: If he had decided to attack with his mid-game army, how would the game have become? Game 4: If he hadn't moved out during the carrier transition on creep to the middle of the map and got surrounded, would he have been able to win the game? Game 5: If he had spotted the changeling right away, would he have been able to hold and move to the next game? With a lot of mistakes like this, Dark deserved to win the series. Trap didn't have a chance to play his game at all. This felt like he was fighting against himself all the time.
@tigera63 жыл бұрын
Game 1: Trap already decided to make Disruptor against Hydra, and normally you dont mave BOTH Disruptor and Storm, it was a strategic choice. In the end, what turn the battle was the Ultra surrounding, and the Carriers count were not enough, I dont think earlier Storm would have made a difference. Game 3: Dark was up 10-15 army supply and lots of them were lings, while Trap had no splash damage, he made the correct choice to move away from creep. Game 4: Trap was almost maxed out, so he needed to trade the unit for more Carriers, thats why he moved out. He just got bad army control and no Sentry to zone out the banes, so yeah, its still Trap fault for this. But also, the map made it freaking hard to Toss to take a 5th base, which force Trap to make more risky move with his army. Game 5: This is not the first time Zerg got a successful Nydus into the Main Base move, its just a mistake made by Trap like every other pro. Maru lost to Nydus, Clem lost to Nydus, pretty sure Zest and Stats also lost to Nydus before. This is nothing specifically against Trap, just a bad time for it to happen.

I wonder if making transfusion something that has to be researched would allow early game queens to accomplish their purpose, but would keep them from being such a spammable early game powerhouse. For 150 minerals they just do so much, once you can get them to the opponent base. Hence all these queen all in strats
@richard5X53 жыл бұрын
@@eeefeefeffasdf If you do that then rushes against the zerg like the dreaded helion rush would be too strong. Zerg would have no way to hold off early pressure as zerglings are just weaker than everything else and roaches aren't supply efficient. Zerg early game lacks a lot of options and is often dictated by the oppenent's play to begin with. Respond to drops/oracles/harass etc. The trade off with infuse means no tumors, and no larva, which stunts the zerg economy and their ability to put pressure on the map/take fights anywhere besides their front door.

Dark deserved the win, no question. Some great battles, but overall, the match was one-sided. I was a bit frustrated with Trap's sloppiness and questionable judgement in some of the games today. He was not playing anywhere near his best, clearly nervous to play against Dark.

The best match would be Maru vs Dark imo, that would be full of lategame and action. Those 2 are both lategame specialist and their army control is so good.

What's with these last two gsl finals? Trap vs dark and maru vs rogue it seems like the loser was literally throwing away games..
@tigera63 жыл бұрын
Zerg players just prepare their game better. In the case of Maru, he probably had no freaking idea about Roach build from Rogue, or if he even practice against that style before the Final. In case of Trap, when he realize that any frontal ground attack into Dark doesnt work, he has no other plan and ultimately losing because his lategame isnt great.

2:37:00 what's with trap not killing that changeling? drunk?
@larryliang67483 жыл бұрын
Trap was too nervous. He didn't play a trap game, but played a dark game. Nervousness cause him to lose his sharpness. His timing attack is his true strength. In this final, Trap didn't look like trap. Don't give up, Trap. Good luck in S3.
@tigera63 жыл бұрын
Thats just who Trap is, but I dont think nervousness had anything to do with it though. Dark just had a much better defense than any other Zerg, including Serral and Reynor who like to drone too much and had less unit to defend.
@germangimenez91003 жыл бұрын
@@tigera6 I beg to differ. Trap made a 2 big mistakes that could´ve changed the tides of the game in the last two maps. Dark winning wasn´t solely because of his perfect defense.
@tigera63 жыл бұрын
@@germangimenez9100 Every players can play perfectly until they get punched in the face and start bleeding. Thats part of being a pro, trying to minimize the mistake and take advantage of the other player mistake. What I dont agree is that, you think Trap would have won without those 2 mistakes, I would say it would have been debatable on who could have won the games. And if you look at the series as a whole, DArk play better, and thats on Dark performance more than TRap. He defended the Oracle/Adept well enough, also stay alive after the first ground army push from Trap. Thats the "punch in the face" because Trap has not played much of late game PvZ, and he barely play any Skytoss. Basically Dark forced Trap out of his comfort zone, and that contribute into the blunder that Trap made. We cant just finger pointing at a certain point and say, that would have change the whole series has player X not made that mistake. Everything happen for a reason and we should not miss the build-up to that point.
@germangimenez91003 жыл бұрын
@@tigera6 I'm with you on what you're saying. Here's the thing, Trap lost because he was not playing at the tipy top of his best... or at least what I think his best is. Dark perfomance was that of a pro player at it's best, Traps one clearly wasn't. And no, I'm not saying he would've won hadn't he make those big mistakes we all clearly saw when he lost the carriers in the middle of the map and the last one not killing the changeling. But maybe, we could've have enjoy a longer final... With the same outcome...
@tigera63 жыл бұрын
@@germangimenez9100 I think Trap was playing at his usual form, he just didnt prepare to play against the Dark style. Most of Trap PvZ win has base on his early harrassment into a big ground army push in midgame that punish Zerg greedy build. Dark allowed none of that, and Trap had to play way past his comfort zone. And I dont think Trap is a great lategame PvZ player nor a great Skytoss user. He and Zoun depends mostly on Gateway and Robo units, which are counter by Dark style. I think Zest is a much suitable player to beat Dark with his crazy variety in timing build and his Skytoss army is very good.

Dark has 2nd Zerg brain to do right thing to do in every maneuver. His hydra bane ultra infestor maneuver impressed me. He just knows that if he fights straight up atm, he loses game so he withers the toss down with split army in different directions while not committing to fight because he knows he has 6 bases and so many larva. No other Zerg in thecurrent era can out-think opponents like him. These type of moves only comes from decade long experience in the game. Dark is an incredibly smart player who understand how Zerg should be played. Well deserved champion.

I think Trap's issue were his tech choices. He wasn't scouting and reacting to Dark's composition very well, and was just determined to tech straight into Carriers every game (which Dark proved he's strong against in the series vs Parting)
