Having previously seen her tactics on getting rid of suitors, he understood immediately that she purposely spilled liquid on herself. I think he's starting to understand that he's crazy about her.

FJ made the weak guys flee by doing what they don't like/are afraid of. And DH does the same thing to FJ making her flee. What scares FJ?....DH knowing their past and confronting her with it. She is desperate to forget it and is pretending it never happened...she doesn't remember and never met the guy. But DH remembers...and he knows she knows (she just admitted it by talking about qingti and his fallen kingdom!)....but she won't admit it to him. And she doesn't know that he knows. She won't acknowledge their relationship and its annoying DH. So what does DH do after he decided to become date number 3 when he watched his wife date in front of him? DH opens with "are you surprised at meeting me here?"...I don't think he means on that bench. Its basically Xuanren saying "you didn't expect me to follow you back home now did you? You thought you could fake your death and get rid of me that way". Its why FJ answers by stating its the first time she ever met DH and she couldn't be more delighted. Thats a lie and DH knows it. Just like he knows her water spilling is a way to leave...but he won't let her use it as an out and prevents her from doing that trick again by saying the water is cooler now. After watching her mention qingti and his fallen kingdom, she indirectly basically admitted to being his wife. If you read between the lines of his comment he is confronting her and wasn't done. Its why she lies to cover it up stating she never met him before. She is trying to retract that qingti conversation. And he wants to have it out with the wife. The confrontation with xuanren is hitting too close to home for FJ so she flees. 🤣😂🤣😂 Its like after he kissed her and she bite him. His "if you hurt someone you should show remorse" and stating that "people like to lie to make themselves feel better". Its not about the bite. Xuanren loved her and she hurt him and never showed remorse for doing that. From DH's point of view not people in general but SHE lied to HIM to make herself feel better while she hurt him. She lied to him about qingti...they fought about that...and then she lied about her death and caused his death. And again its hitting too close to home so FJ flees....onto the ice pillars pretending to be stressed because she is blindfolded on the ice to cover up for the fact that his words got that reaction out of her. Xuanren kissing her out of the blue (while she is trying to keep her distance to be over him)scared the cr@p out of her....fight or flight..so she bite him and ran. And then Xuanren was confronting her because she hurt him, lied to him and never showed any remorse. That scared her so she fled onto the pillars pretending its the pillars not him that scared her. Hihi yeah thats not fooling him. He confronted you and you had an emotional/guilty response. You don't have to admit it, he knows and he knows you know and said his peace. 🤣😂🤣😂 Later (after he put the moves on his wife again but got shot down) he admits to still caring about her (the shield thing) and she admits to caring about him...if she likes it or not...the thought of him dying worried her to tears. They still care about each other and there is still an attraction but FJ is not willing to get her heart broken again. She can't forget what happened....until she forgets what happened and DH gets another chance to start with a clean slate. DH remembered from the start. And after a period of magically stalking her while he didn't know if she is who he thought she was. After she basically admitted it he was not letting the wife go....literally keeping the hanky "he lost and had been looking for". Yeah you did lose "your hanky" and you did look for her. And now you found it and keeping it. 🤨😏 DH just doesn't understand why she is keeping her distance. She isn't an icy b!tch who doesn't care and liked to mess with his heart. She cared too much and he broke her heart several times. She is not letting him break it again. Only when lian song tells him the whole truth does he realise that part and it changed everything for DH.

@@maaiker2977 DH knows when, Where, how many times they met as well as he knows FJ knows it too but here she's trying to convince that it’s the first time meeting him, in another way in wedding they've met twice in entrance convo then in the feast flower pot incident so she didn’t need to mention first time. It's very much clear to DH that she's trying to convince him that they're unknown to each other.... It’s still Xiaujiu who is trying to get rid of their bitter past but DH wants to know the full reason

@@sungedaaktersumi9413 Exactly. Even as Xuanren he knew she was an immortal and on some level knew she didn't belong there and he would lose her. He said as much when she was unwell after qingty died. He knew he fell in love with an immortal. In a way DH's storyarc gets repeated with shen ye. Shen ye was in love with Aranya but they weren't meant to be and she died. Then a woman that looks like her returns to him. Like shen ye, DH is playing it cool to get her back...still heartbroken and confronted by a woman that looks like his love but says she isn't....and with shen ye she says she is but she isn't. He knows he still loves her but he doesn't know her intend messing with him as a mortal. He knows she is lying to him now but instead of realising its done cause she too is heartbroken...instead it looks like she is messing with his head....like she messed with his head as a mortal. But the second he knows the truth and entered the dream with her...like he told her..when she wakes up they'll be home. She is home to him. When her mind came back he was clingy with his head against her head. He wasn't dizzy...he was finally home...but she has no idea what she means to him...cause he is trying not to simp, besides he already told her what she means to him when he was Xuanren. He as Xuanren had to loose the love of his life...was heartbroken and like shen ye emotionally tortured by the sight of his love..who he can't have back. When he finally got her back it was a homecoming to DH. And he tried to pick it up where they left off...he wants to marry her,make her his empress and life/sleep with her. He just wants a family...home..thats all. And she is home to him. The amount of times he tells her "I'll take ya home".🙄 He just has to convince her he is her home too and get her to stay with him. That's the sweetest thing about the ending...gungun officially makes them a family....his family. It took a while and a lot of work but he finally got what he wanted.
