I feel like this song really captures the loneliness of being around people drinking or doing drugs. They don't have anything that brings them together or anything to talk about so they just smoke and drink. And when they are smoking and drinking it numbs them, but when you're sober you are able to see how they are wasting away their time and their lives. And they hurt you because they are so unreliable and they just use you as a way to drink more or get more drugs.

Definitely. I went to a frat party when I was a freshman in college and had never had more than a sip of alcohol at the time. I’m not sure if I would have had one anyway, but when I got there I was suddenly concerned about them being spiked or something since so many girls looked dangerously wasted. I was stone cold sober and the only one. It was actually really disturbing how people were when they were wasted, high, etc. I’m sure they do things they would never otherwise. Someone grabbed my butt and I was in long sleeves and jeans, not dressed provocative at all. One of my suite mates didn’t recognize me and her own roommate. The next morning I let her into the dorm hall and she was wearing a hospital gown since she’d thought she had alcohol poisoning. Anyway, it was not a great experience and made everything feel a bit dangerous. No one really knows what can happen in situations like that.

A lot of people think that Billie is representing herself as an ashtray, watching others distract themselves with substance. "Ashtray on the table, and thats about the only thing they share." Because all these people live for is artificially changing their state of mind, and all she can do is watch and be hurt by them.

That's interesting that CM was inspired / looked up to rappers because they got high. I like learning little bits and pieces about you two. Especially CM. 😊

It's also about alcohol. I liked your reaction but I am curious about what did you learn because I know korean socity is very centerd around alchohol, get together ect...
