FIrst, BRAVO Lit TV guys, best reaction ever to any mv, loved all of it, look forward to more. Second, y'all commenters getting caught up in a false argument re: kpop success, popularity, Western this, cringey that! Are any of us experts on the global entertainment industry? Isn't the point of any entertainment a PERSONAL FEELING of pleasure, uplift, inspiration, satisfaction, awe...all caused by intimate brain chemicals activated in the mind, body, heart and soul? Can we just respect that each person has their own experience of who and what activates this pleasure, and let them enjoy it? And in the case of SuperM, we don't need DEFEND the performers, songs, the lyrics, the concept. I mean, I don't give a shish if they're "popular" or if SM loses money on this venture. I know these boys are already at the top in their genre, their talent and work ethic, and all I feel is GRATITUDE. And at the end of the day, they will all eat well and sleep well. So everybody just relax and enjoy what you enjoy, and let everybody else do the same. A peaceful mind is a beautiful thing.

I always watch your videos and appreciate you both, but I highly disagree with your finishing comments about doing this superM thing on a large scale? Plucking various members out of different groups to put them together? No, no and no! Bands are together for a purpose. It’s their organic synergy together that creates each band’s original and unique styles and sounds. Band members are not pieces on a chessboard to be moved around to “upgrade the industry”. It would be totally inconceivable to even mention this in the west. Yeah, lets take Harry From 1D, two of the Jonas brothers and a few other dudes here and there from the wanted and backstreet boys to from a super boy group! No one would tAke that seriously. How would the remaining bandmates feel? As a fan of one of the groups split apart, how would you feel? Nah, sadly, only the kpop world is artificial enough to have their fans cheer for concepts like NCT and this SuperM thing. In fact, SM is the only company pulling this shit.
@alirollins58045 жыл бұрын
I agree with a few things here however the comparison you made of picking people from random groups isnt as big of a deal because all of the groups in Super M are under one company. Each company is like a family and will constantly feature on other groups songs and do small projects with them too. All of these members have trained together for years and were even their mentors and helped them when training. There are several instances of people from different groups from different companies collaborating and doing projects together so why not take some of the best idols in their respective field in Kpop who all happen to be from the same company and already close who also have lots of international fans and just try it.
@burningSunset785 жыл бұрын
@@alirollins5804 I hear what you're saying, but just because they are under the same company and have teamed up on projects before is different from SM plucking a few members out of existing and well established groups to attempt to form a permanent group like this. I don't think the majority of hardcore fans of EXO or NCT have appreciated this initiative. I have seen a lot of negative comments floating around already. If you are a true fan of one of the GROUPS, there's no way you would be happy about this. At least, I wouldn't be if I were an EXO-L OT9 you know? I just don't get it. What is this? Basically a product? A cash grab? If their goal is truly to break into the western music industry, where a lot of emphasis is placed on composition, artistry, and where music comes first (more than visuals, more than dance choreography), then crafting a group in the most artificial way possible doesn't seem the right way to do it.
@alirollins58045 жыл бұрын
@@burningSunset78 personally in the US not a lot of people really care about what music sounds like the music can be mediocre and below but if they like the artists visuals or personality its enough and yeah but i think what a lot of those people are forgetting is that yes Super M is going to be a permanent group but that doesn't mean they're going to leave or be less active in their groups especially with EXO because now that several members enlisted theres no hope of an ot9 comeback. I know that SM is mainly doing this for money cuz thats what they care about. But i think its good to kinda experiment with things like this. This is kinda like when Coed School was a group. They tried seeing if a coed group could be popular but Korea wasnt ready for it amd eventually Kard honed in on the right things to do and are doing great. I say as long as this sort of experiment i call it doesnt physically harm the members im all for it to see how well itll work and what doing something like this can lead to in the future
@burningSunset785 жыл бұрын
Allie Foster i dont think its true that no one cares about music quality in the US, just like everywhere else in the world, people buy songs from artists they can connect with. There’s always gonna be generic top 40 songs too, but even that is because the song has a hook. Most people dont even know what the singers of those songs look like, much less what their personality is, so you really cant say they became famous because of their personalities, Maybe its just my personal preference, but I think regardless of everything, some things should stay integral, like the composition of a band’s members, otherwise it’s just a big factory out there. If some people enjoy it, then good i guess.. though I just really can’t relate and we will have to agree to disagree. I guess i was just hoping this type of artificiality doesnt become mainstream from now on. I dont think so, because i think people will always be able to recognize real music, but thats also why I can never get behind this concept.

SuperM is not doing that great in America as SM expected. The song is good but not as good as their older songs from each group. The MV is sure better. We watched their performance in the US, a lot of us find that the chemistry between members is not there, each member perform better with their own groups. If Western audiences want to listen to English song and westernized songs why not stick with Western artist? A lot of us like KPOP because is KPOP, different from what we have, we dont want the same things that Western entertainment already have. And I feel horrible that if SuperM is successful, then SM will spend all their money and time into SuperM. So, How about the other Idols from the other groups? I think they will be left behind and will have little attention from SM. We all know how SM run their company. 😠 I really don't hope is successful tbh, I don't want to see the other Idols sitting there with nothing to do until their contracts are over.
