(ENG) Peugeot RCZ R - Test Drive and Review

In 2012 I named the 200 hp RCZ my car of the year. This extraordinary looking Peugeot sounded good, it was fast, and good to drive. Four years later the RCZ still looks fresh, at least from the outside. But is adding 70 hp to a front wheel drive car a good thing?

Bought one 3 days ago , the exact copy of that one , same colour , used with 50k km's , 19.000 Euros in perfect conditions. Can't wait to drive it , she arrives in Septembre :D Can i say that this car looks WAAAAAAAAAAAY better live than in photo's / images ? It's unbelievably beautiful :O

@@MohamedBouallegue88 Just Amazing. Remapped to 300hp with a K&N panel filter and 100 Octane Q8 fuel only. It's Just INSANE for a 1.6liter engine

short gears makes the car much more driveable and if to noisy just put on some music. the fiesta st etc sounds are through their speakers all fake. the rcz is just real via a sound baffel in the dash that the sound comes through

Thank you COVID-19 for watching this in 2020. I still would like this car. GT86 or Genesis Coupe are already forgotten but this Peugeot is future classic. This is better than Audi TT from 6 years ago.

It's funny, when the RCZ was in production, I thought it was okay. Now it's gone, I really like it. Still, means prices are cheap for the R atm at about 20k in the UK, and they can only go up... I hope.

+Brad_0 OMFG, I didn't realise PSA axed it. But I guess people would rather buy DS wannabe luxury cars, than the RCZ.

Sadly yeah, on both fronts. Also Pug have axed the diesel hybrid system today -apparently-, and the petrol 508. And have also stopped making niche cars for niche markets. It is a sad time to be a niche Pug fan

Brad_0 Axing the diesel hybrid I understand. It was too expensive for the benefits it offered. They'd be better off with a petrol hybrid.

tbh, I agree. But axing the petrol 508, even if it's only the 1.6 156, really jars me off

You state that the engine noise, could be quite drony, and noisy on a long journey, what about the 1.6thp? I would imagine its quiter ?

This is the 1.6 THP.

@@MarekDrives i just researched it, 1.6 with the lesser bhp, is minus the soundbox which creates the rasping exhaust note, so its more refined on motorways

Didn't Wana see your ass getting out of the back seats LOL!! I had the rcz diesel as my last car, loved it but you're the only reviewer who like me found the steering wheel way too big. The handling on mine was crap but my tyres weren't the best either
