I wonder how she feels about Gabi...although it's kind of hilarious how she's gushing about other seiyuu in front of her daughter and how annoying dealing with fangirl Mamaneru is. And even a franchise she eventually becomes part of makes her squeamish.

Introduce her to some Ghibli films. Worked for me. My mom doesn't watch anime, but we've seen several Ghibli films together, as well as Wolf Children. She liked them all. :-) I would love to show her other, more serious anime as well (naturally, ecchi, harem, and school romance stuff would be out of the question. :-P), but she can't keep up too well with English subtitles (she's Norwegian and 64 years old), and the amount of anime with Norwegian subs/dubs is very limited.
