Whoever was in charge of casting did a superb job; then music, production, costumes, on and on. And the actors were superb, from leading to supporting roles, no one missed a beat. It was unbelievable. Very impressive. Second by Story of Yanxi Palace. Third, maybe The Untamed.

What a good start to an awesome series. I love all sorts of historical war time drama's. Allen Jialun Ren, is such a good actor and he is really good at the male leads he has played over the years. I love the array of emotions these actors can gives us in just one go. Allen was also great in 'Under the Power' and 'Destiny of the White Snake' I look forward to any of his upcoming series this year for 2020.

I wasn't much into c-drama but YT suggested me Blue Whisper. I discovered Ren Jialun and was drawn by his charisma. Then totally fell head over heel for him in One and Only/ Forever and ever. Since then, I wanted to watch all dramas he was in. He was most superb in Thousand years for you even if the storyline was meh. Now I'm watching Autumn Cicada, I noticed that his face has changed throughout the years and I prefer him at 34 yo, a more mature look. His eyes and smile are so handsome and I especially love his voice.
