Is it still possible to turn off analysis in the settings? They were more stable with it off, which is why I had it added during beta testing... to both aid in testing and to make it more stable in use 🙂 Do any of your buttons do double presses? Be very careful with the USB A port on the front, as they are fragile. Great jog wheels, though, as we got the touch and bend really nice. Good sound if you avoid the analog outs. Well, the analog outs weren't too bad into the DB4, but the SPDIF is much better. The ethernet linking was always extremely unreliable and unstable. But we got NTFS support added, and so you could put one NTFS read-only drive on each player.

Use them with virtual dj. They're awesome for what they are in midi mode with Virtual DJ much better than in standalone. & You've got full hid display feedback to the screen so you can virtually not need to hardly look at monitor/laptop display if you don't want to. & They have internal soundcards so can out put to regular mixer & do it that way.

@@NiklasPesala They work midi hid mode fully mapped in virtual DJ 2021 onwards. There is also a driver for the units soundcards in Gemini s website. Can be used 2 ways complete midi with midi mixer or send the audio out through soundcards into regular mixer via vdj. You can also set up to record mix in vdj fed back into pc line input from regular mixer in options.

Unfortunately, the SPDIF doesn't work in USB/MIDI mode. The sound out the SPDIF in standalone mode is actually better with keylock off than the new Denons. The new Denons also don't even have built in sound card capability for some weird reason... or at least didn't the last time I tried. If you just want a controller separate 'transport' player, though, get some Hanpin (Stanton, American Audio, Reloop, Omnitronic, DJ Tech, Citronic, Akiyama, etc) which will give you full 14-bit pitch faders and equivalent quality jogs, just no HID display. If you want a pair of players for US$400 each, get a Denon DJ SC5000 which is 2 layers in one, and then save up for another later. Prime also plays most formats, while the MDJ is limited to like MP3, WAV, and AIFF. The MDJ software, while having good audio processing fidelity, is extremely unstable, and the hardware is fragile.

@@Reticuli yea I got both the Denon & MDJ. The latest firmware is better for MDJs but, prefer them in VDJ out via soundcard into an older DJM 400 (the sweep knob being on players anyway). Very stable in VDJ & full hid can even turn the screen away & just use players like standalone mode if you wanted. It has an odd pitch component. The player is 0.001 resolution but the pitch component an odd 0.002 that goes 0.001 then 0.003 etc. Yep, it's odd the Denons don't have a soundcard. I use them with a FLX 10 now in vdj, supports both pioneer & Denon together, Pioneer for the soundcard. However can use via RCA together in normal mode. The Denon SC5000s cost about £900 each player in UK though. $400 is cheap. Even cheaper in exchange rate. The Denons work by buying the whole kit in midi the x1800/1850 having the soundcard element, they same way a controller does. They want you to buy the whole thing.

Well, they are not that bad as they say but tbh, they are BAD! but what can we expect from a low budget company… i recommend people to save up a bit more and buy an used CDJ-850K or CDJ-1000MK2 or XDJ-700 even tough its small but its pioneer and gemini is not even close to pioneers quality…

Note that the MDJs works with virtual dj via USB and it's better. V-case is trash but what can we expect from a low budget dj company.

Well, you need to make a playlist first, and put all the tracks there and export it and drag it to the usb. You'll find a folder called v case in the usb and the tracks should be there and it would automatically load the right bpm. ps. Usually dj mixers shows the track bpm of the channel when cue is on

V-Case is evil. I used it once, and then uninstalled it. Analysis files were huge. It filled up an entire brand new RAID 0 SSD dual drive combo OS I'd just set up.

I found a free BPM detector software for windows and it detects the tracks on a folder and saves them to the file properties page so you can activate the id3 mode on the players. Link to the bpm detector in description
