I love how you just started drawing random lines and it ended up turning into something beautiful, I'm now interested in digital arts, I'd probably save up some money through part time jobs and buy myself a cheap drawing tablet, amazing video!

Tablets are great, but you can do what he did just as well with pencil and paper. I mostly prefer tablet for painting when I dont' want to, or can't, break out the real paints.

@@justincain2702 thats not the point. the drawbacks of using physical pencil and paper have been taken away when you use the digital app. thats why its much more preferred these days.

@@justincain2702 Well, however, you dont need to wait for the paint to dry, not to mention that digital art is way more than just a pencil and paper. I was a tradional artist, 12 yrs in sketch and actual practical art. I became a digital artist because of the infinite possibilities in digital art. It can literally became ANYTHING. I no longer is limited by canvas or tools I use. I can add both watercolor and oil painting texture into the same art, and actually blend them in. Traditional art has its own unique advantages, as I love sketching with pencils. But i think digital art is just as special as traditional art, and it’s such a great thing humanity had created. Just so you also know, 3D models, animations and all those AI simulations are also part of the deal with digital art. It does has things that you can’t do in a traditional way, which I suggest you to try out and play around with. Art is just trial and error, and getting out of comfort zone.
i love how excited he is about the app, its so fun watching older people figure stuff out by themselves and then really love the program that they're using

It's been a while since I watch your video more than 2 years ago, and when I saw you first time using digital, I'm shocked and hyped for this since I also drew in digital. I really love your paintings in the past and still support you. Thank you for all paintings that inspired me! 🌸
You've taught me a new lesson in digital art. When I first started digital art I always thought that it should only be done in one way because that's what a lot of people do. They follow the same pattern of adding a sketch in one layer, adding lineart in another, and adding the colors in the last layers. That's what my teacher from school and all the other tutorials on the other internet taught me. Basically, I was taught that it was completely different from the regular pencil and paper and that I'd have to learn new methods just to achieve the same result that traditional art gives me. Thank you. You're a wonderful teacher.

Ehr well...It REALLY depends on the style you're going for. And layers are there mainly for convenience, of course they're utilized. You can skip them though, no one forces you to use them lol?

Tutorials and school, teach software to learn how to use it, as well as to get the best potential of all the tools. Also to help people who are perhaps not so skilled in traditional drawing (textures, lighting, color selection, etc.) And mainly, to serve as a convenient medium of wide modification margin for the professional environment, where revisions and modifications are made in every project. I also work in a single layer when I want to be more "artsy", but for work, everything is separated and organized. As in traditional media, after you learn the basics, look for the best way to achieve the best results according to what you want and need :)

I use layers because it’s more convenient to erase because it just erases that layer instead of having to start that part all over but I put multiple things on one layer because I forget to use layers and because I’m lazy I leave it on that layer

Shibasaki sensei’s adaptability is amazing! Looks like this won’t be his last time to do digital. 💚

I’m honestly very happy to see that you enjoyed digital drawing. As a young artist myself (that primarily uses digital art) it’s always nice to see someone be so in awe of the medium. Most people your age range tend to have a pretty cynical look on not using “traditional mediums” so it’s refreshing to see how much you took it in stride despite not knowing how to use the app beforehand. This is kinda random but, your voice is so calming to listen to as you sketched on the iPad, and it reminded me of asmr-

Its so calming and I get so excited and happy when I see you draw with such enthusiasm :D
It's expected from all those years of experience that your first digital drawing would be great but I can't believe it's THIS great!!!!! Please do more videos drawing in digital! I enjoyed a lot this one! Take care grandpa!
I’ve been drawing digitally for over 6 years, and it’s always heartwarming to see people of all ages to get into this specific medium of art. It’s very fun and intuitive!

I'm absolutely floored on how Shibasaki-san actually handled this; despite this being his first time, he literally made a pretty picture with JUST the pencil and the eraser-- on ONE layer. This video convinced me that experience is the key to making something beautiful no matter the medium.
This is just beautiful. Thank you sir! This is so relaxing and wholesome to watch. Looking forward to watch more digital drawing from you. All the best!! 😊

Oh my goodness!! 50 years in art!! Shibasaki our grandpa has such amazing experience!!! Congrats on our art grandpa for being able to get into digital art!! It's so nice to know that there are old people that are able to draw as well, since learning is a life long process 😆 Love this!! Also, the drawing looks absolutely amazing! Not to mention you were able to draw this without a reference or layers! The way you adapted to the app at such an unbelievably fast speed was so nice to watch, I think it looks great! After watching your video, I'm more motivated to give digital art a try and not give up just because I may not be as good. Thanks for always helping us love art grandpa! 😆
