That's why: she could dump him once curator express admiration & offered her opportunities and his mom told him he need to love to get love in return & he's lucky that she dumped him. While in relations with FL, he started learning but she was 5y far ahead of him. Also his love life became static during the 6y although his career rocketed (making him arrogant & abrasive). 1 thing in common with both ex - he was dumped/divorced after being apart for months.

When his ex and him broke up, he went to Dr. Ruan and when they divorced he adopted a child and once he lost the child he actually admitted his feelings then once he had her, he went back to how he behaved before. It's frustrating to see them going back in circles about the problems in their relationship when it could've been solved with proper communication. Instead of avoiding the problem that led them to divorce, they should just openly and honestly talk about it, reflect from it and learn from their shortcomings and mistakes in the past. Everyone is hating on the male lead in the comments loool but if you think about it, the fact he kept EVERYTHING including their wedding ring, says a lot. Knowing his personality and how logical he is, if he really didn't love her it would have been so easy for him to throw all those things away because logically what would be the point in keeping them? I understand our female lead though, to her this is like their do-over, a chance to start over. Fact is, he is who he is already and he's actually softened so much especially towards her and how he treats her. He lets her invade his privacy like literally letting her go through his whole house (i mean it was technically THEIR house but it's been like 6 years) including his bedroom and most of all allows her to take care of his son and even leaves him alone with her trusting that he will be taken care of. Finally able to find a thread that I could agree with. I actually like the personality of the ML. He is straightforward, logical and unpretentious. Female lead is acting like the guy can read minds and has a crystal ball. Words exist to be used for communication. I find it annoying when people expect people to read minds. What a waste of time. Also, it is easy to judge people with the personality of the ML but I actually think he is a good guy. It’s just that he is a bit broken given he grew up in a broken family unlike the FL who grew up in a complete loving family. Yet, female lead is expecting him to be someone she envisions her partner should be instead of understanding who he is and where he is coming from. She wants the relationship to be equal yet she asking him to yield to her. He loves her and cared for her the way he knows how yet FL lead is asking him to love her or care for her the way she believes he should.

@@r.is.s Lol I'm definitely not a man and I'm not defending the ML he has his faults but so does the FL. What it means to be in a mature relationship (which btw, sounds like you've never been in one) is to communicate and express what you NEED from your partner. In my opinion the ML has done the BARE MINIMUM, he has actually managed to express his feelings for her multiple times and does takes care of her. This is where figuring out each other's love languages comes in because for him that might be him already expressing his love for her meanwhile she sees expressing love as something grand and completely opposite his. Genuinely don't see how he treated his ex better? Him and his ex would have broken up long before she met that guy she left him for because she doesn't understand his profession. Their relationship now (if only the FL would be a bit more mature) has great potential because it gave us a glimpse of what their home life would be, where they both know their responsibilities as a doctor and are able to support each other and that both their careers are a priority to them. I can understand everyone is here hating on ML. But, we mostly saw FL's pov. And imagine being left alone by person by person throughout life. First it's his ex, the days before marriage, and then his mother, FL, his son. He was holding himself being strong or whatever, i don't think he is okay after all happened. In the end he is still a human. And remember the day when he was in US and worked hard not spending time out chilling, saying he wants to get back to his wife sooner. The last day there him laughing and enjoying would have two reasons, him finally succeeding and he's going back to his wife. True he is not well going with showing feelings but stil he isn't like the cold hearted. But still I'll blame him for marring FL out of impulse (?) Or maybe just covering up for his breakup.

I have read different povs of different people through out the episodes... I don't really know what to say... As an introvert and straight forward person myself... I would like to put my pov here too... Dr. Ning was an extremely introverted, straightforward and ofcourse careless person.. He disliked getting or seeking attention... He genuinely loved her but he was short tempered and less expressive... He was more like keeping things to himself and his closed ones... Whereas Dr.Ruan was way too impulsive, more emotional and it was way too hard for understanding Dr.Ning... Mainly they had a problem in expressing themselves in a similar way to each other...and not their love ... They both loved each other but they failed to communicate somehow... That communication could be grown from talking to each other and spending time... They did that least... So the basic problem, in my opinion, was communication between the leads... Not their love or worth ... Thank you🤞💙... (PS. I love this series soo much... Really hoping for a happy ending... Fighting ❄️)

But Dr. Ruan was so into him, she saw past that. But in truth, Dr. Ning was just at fault for not communicating well or for not being romantic. Which she didn't understand. Still, I want them together better.

It's so frustrating, irritating... I mean I already finished 21 episodes but there is no progression in the story,it is still repeating and repeating. And most importantly the male lead didn't even realize his mistake till now,he is jealous but doesn't show his love properly instead he avoids. Also after break up I can't see that proper sadness in the eye of the male lead.I mean what are you doing male lead? And the family of the female lead,specially the brother,what is so good in the ml that you all desperately want him to be her husband again? I am glad she did not marry him. They both want different things from this marriage. Ning thinks that being a doctor and putting up with a doctor's schedule while being compatible is more important than having a loving marriage. This is not women vs. men. Yes, there are difference between the sexes, but having true love for each other will go a long way in keeping the marriage together because there is caring, respect, kindness, and so much more when romantic love is involved. I would not want to be a robotic roommate to the person I love or vice versa. Love covers all and can heal if it is present in a marriage, and I am not talking about friendship love. That is different. Who wants to be friend zoned? No one I know.

I love the story so much because I can see my neighbors in them. Hahaha real life situation... I love the story because it's something we can see in our society. Hay personas que sienten pero no saben como expresar esos sentimientos ni con palabras ni con gestos el se tomó el trabajo de hacer que sea una declaración soñada para ella, creo que mayor prueba de amor que eso, un exfuerzo para su personalidad practica, calculadora, fría.... El esta vez trato de entenderla y cumplir sus expectativas, cambio... Pero ella no lo vio, ella quiere que ese cambio sea natural, ella quiere que sea otra persona, aunque la mayoría de la veces ella es quien mejor lo conoce a el y comprende, salvo en la intimidad y estas expresiones de cariño... Una de mis hijas tiene esa personalidad, muy similar a el... Recuerdo una anecdota que discutía con su novio porque el le recliminaba que ella nunca le decía que lo Ana y ella le responde pero si te lo dije la semana pasada (para ella decirlo una vez ya estaba, es que de esa semana a la siguiente no cambio su sentimiento, que era inecesario decirlo cada día...), y eso me acordó tanto en el capítulo que el le dice que ya tienen la foto de bodas de la vez pasada y lo mismo anillos ya que no cambio la medida...
