I agree and disagree. But it could also be a lost in translation error. As they have proven these past two years in particular, every single one of them can kill it as a soloist (and I can't wait to hear more solo work from them in the future). But when they are performing as Mamamoo, I never feel like they are 4 separate artists/soloists that got lumped together in a group. They have a totally different vibe and dynamic when they perform together. They synergize so well and never feel like they are on stage competing against one another. Honestly, they are pretty much one of the only girl groups (maybe the only one) that manages to be entirely different as soloists than as a group, and they do it all without crafting a fake image, struggling to differentiate all their solo and group releases, or forcing an image or sound that is inauthentic just to be different. They are four soloists. They are also one group. And somehow they manage to pull off both without precluding one or the other.

I didn't see any other group having that much fun singing together ! It give a really warms vibes .. It's like telling us "we love each other. . I wish that were true... People that respect talent do pay their dues to Mamamoo but most people on twitter cannot fathom someone less popular, being more talented than their fave, so I've seen fans from these very groups try & drag Mamamoo any way that they can. Whether that be streams or sales or charts, etc. Multifandom ppl appreciate all that Mamamoo has to offer but more often than not, I've seen gg stans only ignore or insult Mamamoo sadly :( But yes, from the general consensus, Mamamoo is considered the one top group from 3rd gen in terms of vocals & performance, and quite probably one of the best ever in Kpop. They truly outdo themselves with every release 🥹

In my humble opinion,(no expert), as a K-pop goup Mamamoo is very different from the rest. While perfectly coreographed of course, the stage performances with their small gags and direct communication with the audience are usurpassed in this otherwise hyper polished business were nothing is left to chance. Their choice of music is also quite different, often more leaning to soul, jazz and funk.

Sometimes when you hear or see a group where all members are powerhouses it can seem as if they are trying to outshine each other when they sing their part in a song. I don't see this with Mamamoo. All 4 women are amazing artists each with unique talents (as we seen in their solos) However, when performing as a group,instead of trying to outshine each other, they work together to compliment each other and this in turn creats these amazing performances.
