I feel like chat and matsuri were talking about 2 different aspects of gay relationships there. Chat was like, “society makes gay relationships difficult-you can’t marry, there’s discrimination, etc” but Matsuri was more inward-focused like, “all relationships are difficult, right? Love isn’t exactly easy.” Both of them are right unfortunately. But as a gay person, hearing “isn’t that hard, 2 women together?” my mind immediately goes to the societal interpretation, because how can it not? It’s unfair, it shouldn’t be that way. I wonder if matsuri answered the way she did as a sort of pushback. When people say “but isn’t that hard” i feel like most of the time they’re actually trying to say “please be straight”. matsuri saying “at the end of the day love is the same” it pushes back against it. It definitely feel like Matsuri was pushing back with that comment to me. And I saw Tomoe talking about it recently. That talk was really heavy. On some level, I wished she didn't say it'd be easier to go on a "straight-passing" path. On the other hand I really get it. She's clearly gone through things thay made her think about this a lot. Japan just still really suck for lgbt+ people. I originally fell into the rabbit hole through takamori. And yes they are partially just characters and ultimately any story can be spun as a product, so it's not like I demand some sort of irl lgbt+ confirmation - plus that could be an invasion of privacy. But I really hope fans who ship people around aren't just seeing queerness as a spectacle. I hope they appreciate that real lgbt+ lives are on same the plane of existence as theirs. Anyway, I respect both Matsuri and Tomoe enormously. They're just kind, strong, thoughtful people. And I appreciate it when they can talk about these things.

I hope one day that question won't be all that serious, and a girl dating a girl can initially be seen as "aw they love each other" instead of "wouldn't that be hard to do tho?" I don't think I would have any issues dating someone like Matsuri, as long as she was at least considerate/does not leave me on read. I play magic, so I am used to planning on playing for a few hours, then you look outside and it's dark, same with gaming, if my brain is fully distracted by something time can just get away from me. If my gf was playing games at a friends and it started to run long, as long as she calls/texts me so I know she is not dead/abducted by aliens, I would be fine with it. What matters most in life is communication; it can be a really pleasant relationship as long as you like being around each other and communicate honestly about things, stuff sorta just works itself out. Jealousy is just sorta dumb; why would someone get ticked off if they person they are dating has friends, or wants to go dancing, or all sorts of other activities I may not even be interested in? I have my own ideas who Matsuri was seriously interest in when it comes to Hololive, but her principal of not dating co-workers makes it all useless anyway. Matsuri seems to generally lust after girls, but when it comes to romance I do see her specific type all the time. Just watch her play Idolmaster Shiny Colors and it all really falls into place.
