Ikr. He's a creep. Yet, this is not the first time I've seen this kind of storyline. The older boy being in love with the younger girl he saved at some point or that helped him go through a difficult situation... Tbh, the whole innapropiate age gap for attraction, in general, I've seen many times in several Chinese, Japanese and Korean dramas. It gives me chills and it surprises me that we still see this kind of scenarios in 2020 dramas.

Just while growing up he had warm feelings because of her he had another shot at his life. So because of that he did want to find her and then he just kinda already was partly atracted to Yiren and knowing the fact she is the same girl just made it more special for him. That is all. I don't see the inappropiatness at all. However I do see this as a plot hole in this drama because to me this kind of saving a girl is not good reason enough to be a connection for him to be wanting to find her. They could of have thought of a better reason. I mean if she rescued him from something, then that would be more reasonable. As for the age gap, depends what do you mean. Do you mean the age gap in drama itself between the actors or tha gap in real life? I do agree some actors is strange to see acting as leads when the actual age gap is very huge, but to me that depends on what kind of actors, some do really suit together and if none of them are under legal age I don't see a problem. Like in real life too it happens people whith bigger gaps fall in love. Of course I don't mean about some 80 yearl old and 20 year girl realtionship because thats really bullshit. But 10 year, 15 year gap is possible really. It's up to people.

@@claritakrist Well, everyone's got their point of view. I personally think that he could've thought she was cute in a wholesome way when they were younger. But that fact that he kept that clip is a bit weird. It wouldn't be a weird if he just kept it for the memory. But he kept on looking for her through the years, with obvious intentions of establishing a relationship. Sure, in adulthood, their age gap means little. But he looked for her with his mere memory of her as a kid. And as you yourself recognized it, saving her wasn't enough for them to have a connection. At least not on his part. His feelings for Yiren now are not wrong as they came naturally from a grown man towards a grown woman. But that is not the case with his inclinations in romantically liking the little girl of his memory. This is not the most innapropiate plot ever I've seen in a drama, though. I've seen worst. I've even seen the 16 year old kiss the 8 year old. Tbh, some people would say that it doesn't matter because they're both minors. But I don't think it is appropiate for a teenager to have romantic feelings for a kid. Not in this drama, not in any other. And much less a grown man hanging on to some childish item. That's just my pov and the one of several, as I've noticed. You can have yours.
