“Look up to the sky, I see your warm smile among sparkling stars
I feel tears streaming quietly down my face."
Inspiration taken from The Little Prince written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. "When I was little, my mon told me that the stars up on the sky are actually our loved one who have passed away. By then I hadn't experienced seperation. I loved watching my mother's eyes, they were so dark but so bright, so deep and yet so warm, just like the starry sky above the grassland. Time passed away so quick that I didn't even have a minute to cry. During the Spring Festival in 2020, the world turned silent. Some people stayed at home, enjoyed three meals a day, and a quiet but blessed life. But others had to face the dark nights alone; had to say goodbye to loved ones. During the pandemic, I've seen too many stories of people encountering devastating deaths and partings, but still had to pull themselves together and live on. I wanted to express something, I wanted to sing.
One afternoon, I was improvising a piece of melody on the piano and humming the words"na mi da". My friend told me that it means “tears“ in Japanese. It was at that moment, when the long supressed emotions inside me found their way out. In April, when it came to the end of writing the melody of this song, I lost a family member. We were still in lockdown so I couldn't be there and send him off his last journey. During that most painful time, "believing" was my only salvation. I think, namida is the tear, the shooting star. It is my sadness, my regret and my guilt. It is also the sunshine and the belief of a once pessimistic child, now grown up. It reminded me of The Little Prince, which for me, is the loneliest yet the most beautiful fairy tale. So when writing the lyrics of this song, I tried to maintain a simple and pure heart. No matter how brutal the reality is, we should aways have hope. "
Above are Ayanga's own words on writing this song. It came from the softest place at the bottom of his heart. Both the lyrics and the melody are pure and honest, which go right into our hearts, and bring out many "smiley tears". The famous musician Baby Chung arranged and produced this song. After its expressive and grand first half, the changes during the interlude is a nice suprise. There is no continuation of the symphony and the piano - instead, a more dramatic arrangement follows, offering a great sense of liveliness. When performing this song, Ayanga paid special attention to the narrative style during the first half, before the interlude, and then emphasized the beating rhythm during the second half. He not only showcases the boundless diversity music offers, but also brings out that never-ending hope.

Ayunga is really impressive to me, bc he singlehandedly changed the way that I perceive operatic singing/bel canto. I've never seen anybody else sing bel canto, and sound good - until I did a deeper dive on Ayunga's stuff. *I mean male bel canto. I have heard decent female bel canto - but again, like male bel canto, never heard anything that I particularly like/that stands out to me. Whoever sang that riff at the end of this song, sounds absolutely incredible. Does anyone know who that is? And what other songs sound as good as that? Sigh.

Ah, that reminds me, this reminds me of Alan's music. And the bel canto at the end is also reminiscent (If I Recall Correctly) of Alan's falsetto/head voice/bel canto, as well. But I haven't heard Alan's bel canto singing in a while, and she doesn't/hasn't really do it very much/hasn't recorded very much in that regard. Unfortunately, in my opinion, it sounds amazing. She seems to be more interested in Chinese operatic/theatrical singing. (Different from Bel canto, and even Chinese Bel canto)

Hi, I strongly advise you guys to upload the second to the last tracks which are 'Love Island', 'Under the Cherry Tree' & 'Namida' one month after they were debuted. I really appreciate your hard work to produce these lyrics videos and share them with global fans. However, for now, those who are in China still have to pay to listen to these few songs. It's not fair to them and your actions had infringed the rights of the song owner. This may also influence the sales of Ayanga's album. For instance, I'm not staying in China but I still managed to purchase this album in QQ music. It's good enough for you guys to upload the lyric video of the first track for promotional purposes.
