the xie yu actor's performance during that prison interrogation scene was powerful, he really put his back into it. The look on mei chang su's face when he came out of the cell was so sad, i'm sure he doubted himself at that moment, like what if he got justice? Everyone was already dead.

我没看过原著，但从剧情推进来猜测，当年还是皇子的梁帝萧选应该跟言阙没有什么真心的交情，言府侯爵世袭罔替，如言阙所说，言家出过帝师、宰府、皇后，在朝中的地位无需言表，所以当时萧选便想尽办法结交了言阙并将他唯一的妹妹聘为正妃，但萧选心中真正喜欢的人当是林爕的妹妹林乐瑶，林家肯定不同意自己唯一的女儿去做妾室，所以萧选对林妹才一直未能得手，而他借林爕的助力登基之后做的第一件事便是急哄哄诏了林家女儿做宠妃并将自己的妹妹、真正的长公主晋阳许配给了林爕，以宸妃能为萧家生下皇长子来看，梁帝的确非常宠爱林乐瑶，而以林殊当年的受宠程度来推测，晋阳长公主在后宫当比莅阳公主更加的受宠且有威信，所以才会让萧选日升忌惮，以至于在谢玉的煽动之下起了灭门的心思。有可能最初的时候萧选是想将莅阳公主许配给言家的，但莅阳公主自己做了有辱皇家颜面的事情，不能匹配言家，所以萧选只好花了一点手段选到了当时什么都不是的谢玉，身份低微自然好掌控，必是萧选让他做什么他就会做什么，当时的太后自然不会知道谢玉是谁，若不是萧选从中推波助澜，太后又怎会同意这样一份门不当户不对的婚姻？而谢玉如果不是早与萧选有勾连，单凭林家的从龙之功以及皇亲国戚的身份，他又怎敢轻易去动赤焰军跟长公主？更早之前因为滑族两位公主的关联，让萧选又跟夏江勾连在了一起，一边答应帮滑族复国一边估计又许诺给夏江一定的利益，以谢玉会为夏江扫尾这件事来看，谢玉其实是处在食物链最底端的，萧选跟夏江的利益链应当更牢固一些，所以才会让他在当年的赤焰军一案的关键环节做手脚，跑腿打杂的事情则全都由谢玉去完成；想来谢玉也应当是明白自己的地位难以越过夏江，才会转而投向太子，以期待自己将来能得言府那样的地位尊崇，只可惜谁都没想倒林殊没死，还卷土重来在朝堂上再一次掀起了血雨腥风……

@@itsmeytaf welcome. There are very few C-Dramas I have watched that are meant for more concentration and an older audience. They are: Nirvana in Fire Secret of Three Kingdoms The Sleuth of Ming Dynasty Jun Jiu Ling A Dream of Splendor Some find them boring but I love them because the characters have more depth. Not everything is stated out loud and some things you realize after the show is over, it just comes to you in your head. Word of Honor is also like that but most people just saw only the surface level of the story but it was quite deep on an emotional level. Good luck and I hope you enjoy whatever shows you get to watch.
