Behind her persona, she is really level-headed and considerate toward others. In this clip, she shows her concern towards her fans, and other streamers. She may have reputation of being reckless and noisy, but that’s also just front she puts up to hide her introvert and shy personality. She is pretty awesome.

I feel that Pekora might be taking heat from inside the company from higher ups or even critisisms from the fans of the other members, like getting told off to remind her fans to stop with the peko spam... and the way she handles it is in the most briliant way possible. I do hope those fans realize that their actions on other streams might hurt pekora.
@Sin_Alder4 жыл бұрын
Don't get me wrong, I certainly don't approve of people spamming or being assholes in other people's streams, but it seems like there's a strong stigma against referencing other streamers in peoples streams, which I don't really get. Maybe it's just different in the West or something, since usually in the West people don't care if you reference others as long as you aren't spamming or causing trouble, but I don't know a lot about Japanese streaming culture. I've seen some Japanese call it disrespectful, while usually in the West people are just happy to see that people enjoy their streams enough to show up. I've never been one to reference other streamers in the chat regardless, since I pretty much never engage with chat and am too focused on whatever is happening on stream, but I'm having trouble seeing why it would be a big deal as long as it doesn't get out of hand. Also if anyone can clear this up, I've heard complaints about people engaging with chat before the stream starts, calling it disrespectful as well, while in the West I've never heard a single streamer ever complain about it. In fact, it's common for Western streamers to use it as a chance to interact more directly with the chat while they're setting things up. Is this just a cultural difference, or is it more complicated than that? Sorry for the long reply. Edit: I just realized that it could be an idol culture thing that I'm not familiar with, either the expectations of conduct or the extreme level that spammers may go to that I may be unaware of. I've never really understood idol culture, and never really found idols appealing, with Vtubers becoming an exception due to them being more like regular youtubers than idols, at least in my eyes.
@Yasviele4 жыл бұрын
@@Sin_Alder It happens in the west too, talking about other people or engaging in chat with other people just leads to off topic discussions, arguing and it's annoying for the streamers who would obviously prefer if the chat is about whatever they're saying or showing, idk who you follow, but it is a common rule to stay on topic and that includes not taking OUT OF NOWHERE about someone else, it's pointless. There are also culture differences of course, the "idol culture" is common in Japan so they know better, but overseas fans who are used to streamers in twitch where they can insult you back or just ban you if they don't like you, they would come here "for fun" as you would see in vtubers clips, many of the "trolling" or "memes" come from western people in English or Spanish that just want to see the girl saying bad words in their native language or find themselves in awkward situations.

I honestly don't believe those idiotic troublemakers in other viewers' channels are mostly Nousagis. Anyone who follows Hololive for a while knows about Pekora's verbal tic. I'm not a Haaton or Kenzoku, but even I can randomly spam Haachama!? or TMT on anybody's stream. Trolls of any kind--even the VTuber's own viewers--can spam -peko if they think it's an easy trigger to get the VTuber to react and give them the attention they pathetically crave. I do feel sorry for Rushia because she kept getting harrassed by stale pettan boing boing and -peko spams, but blame the trolls, not Nousagis. The one scenario where Pekora legitimately does need to remind Nousagis to behave and fall in-line is during collab streams involving Pekora but hosted on another VTuber's channel. Many Nousagis assume it's fair game to continue their usual behavior because Pekora is present; in those situations, you'd be right to call out Nousagis if they're spamming -peko.

Honestly, I think that applies to most internet personalities with a sizable fanbase. If your fans get out of control and start being annoying outside of your content/social media, then you run the risk of inconveniencing other people. That will in turn severely hurt your potential positive fame, because according to the internet, if your fanbase is bad, then you are worse. If people care about their content creators, they need to learn to not be idiots about them.

She's actually right though, and I speak from experience. At first, when I first watched Pekora, I genuinely thought that the nousagis actually hated her because of how much they bully her all the time and that made me a bit hesitant to join. Fortunately, I still gave it a go because Pekora seemed really fun and cool, and to say the least I haven't regretted falling down the rabbit hole. I still feel bad for her sometimes tho XD

This is not Western or any particular stream to be blamed, that's just silly. This is normal across internet culture, this has been happening before KZbin was even created on the internet. Yeah I am a huge pekora fan but it annoys me if people use peko in other vtuber's chats seemingly to try to get an reaction from them. The problem with this is everybody can just use -peko and pretend to be a nousagi just to tease their favorite vtuber. I've seen this in Rushia and Noel's stream where they tease them just to get a reaction out of them. Which is why Pekora says its unfair cause it is very easily associated.
@AHHHEYGAO4 жыл бұрын
This. Sadly, judging by most of these Comments here, folks have already decided that anyone who spams -peko and trolls other VTubers would be a Nousagi.
@asimovvomisa40404 жыл бұрын
Over time every vtuber has/developed their thing/running joke and if one really wants to bring up they are watching other vtubers it will just get easier over time. I think it really is nice that there are some very different personalitys in the mix as well, provides a wide arrange of viewing experience. The inverse would be far worse: every vtuber turning into the exact same person over time and losing their special quirk/personality ... you know like them actually turning into idols (or rather the idea of one)
@markb63394 жыл бұрын
@@AHHHEYGAO Sadly yes, there are some bad apples in a fanbase and I can see them in other streams but i doubt they are a true Nousagi! Peko spammers are mostly outsiders who want a reaction.

Long winded comment in-coming. I only just found these vtubers just recently and thanks to the tremendous work from the translators, I can enjoy these clips and moments in their streams since I live in the U.S. Pekora is one of my favorites not due to something like her style but her personality and chemistry with her fellow idols. I end up watching her and several others and each one is unique as well as entertaining in their own way. This is a very humble and level headed way to work with her fans. I don't know if I'd be considered part of that group, but I hope she knows she's got plenty of support from me, from what little I can do without fully understanding their spoken language. Good job!

A lot of people clip Pekora making seemingly silly mistakes and the like, but if you actually watch her content she just plays in a very high-risk high-reward way in most games and people pick out when she misses and laugh at that, even if 95% of her content is her absolutely having no problems playing perfectly.
@bandohjfusion48854 жыл бұрын
I think a lot of overseas fans perceptions of hololive girls can be skewed dew to what the translators choose or don't choose to translate. They tend to only translate the moments that will get them the most views, like Pekora failing and being bullied or Rushia getting mad at 'flat' spam in her chat, which can lead to negative outcomes. I really wish they were more considerate with what they translate, how they translate it and especially how it may affect whom they are translating.
@Appers4 жыл бұрын
@@bandohjfusion4885 There's even an extent that the "peko peko" fan stuff is probably exaggerrated a little in the west, since there are always super high profile clips whenever a Vtuber reacts to people doing pekospam in their chat (like when Rushia freaked out about it or when Watame pretended she didn't know what it means).
