fun fact for mainly english speakers the word 婴 （ying from wei ying) is literally how chinese address new born which is commonly associated with pure and innocent. similar to wei ying character, a child will try to help others in pain without much care of consequences cause he/she dont hink that much, just care-freely take care of those he love. At the same time a child or we call 婴儿，is often misunderstood and not taken seriously. Not many would trust a child's word or believe what the child say.. similar to wei ying...

isn't it weird how most of the song is about him being dead and not knowing if what he remembers and hears are all just a dream or reality? like, he is hearing the Inquiry that lan wangji is playing, but he can't answere. and doesn't even know if what he hears is real or just a memory, and if it's a memory why he's hearing it now... in the movie, and even in the books, wei wuxian couldn't remember where he was when he was dead, so we were kind of happy to know that he wasn't suffering... but here... in this song, it's shown that when he was dead, he relived through his life and mistakes again and again, suffering every second. and what's worst is that after he's resurrected, all those sufferings and his story is just a tail that people don't even believe anymore. like a myth... it's sad to know everyone hates you, it's much sadder to find out your life and sufferings just became a bed time story that people "heared once"...
