This is Shibasaki, your painting instructor. Today, I'd like to draw using "Sakura Craypas Specialist", which has been upgraded with high-grade pigments, while keeping the long-standing familiarity and comfort of "Sakura Craypas". Compared to the 100-yen fluorescent crayons I showed you in the previous video, how much more powerful is the new fluorescent crayon? I'm going to take my time to find out as I draw. I see that no matter what the art mediums you use, such as even crayons from a dollar store sometimes, your painting always becomes so beautiful ! I guess it is the artist's skills/gift/talent that makes the artwork really awesome ! I buy professional quality of water colors, color pencils, etc....but my paintings still have not been even near your level. They say not to compare, but I guess I have a lot more practice to do. I really like the artwork. Specifically, I love the use of neon color in the polar bear, and the use of neon colors in the shadows of the bear and the shadows of the ice. It really gives the impression that the Northern Lights are turning the polar bear (and the ice) from their normally white color into these neon colors. I also like the 'out of focus' parts of the ice, where the ice blurs into shadow. (Like a camera lens) - Also, Sakura is a very good brand. (In the Netherlands, where I live, Sakura is distributed by Talens - a very high regarded brand of paints and brushes). My sketchbook (with black paper) is from Sakura brand. And I also have fine line pens and calligraphy pens from Sakura. Very good quality :) - Thank you for sharing this. I don't always write in the KZbin comments, but you should know that I really enjoy watching your videos :) Greetings from Amsterdam (The Netherlands)

@@WatercolorbyShibasaki :) Did you try to view this artwork under UV light? I think it will look extra cool! Most neon colors will light up under UV light :) 🎆🎇 (Like Tokyo at night 😎) Especially on the black background, it will look extra cool 🤘😄

@@sacrebleu1371 Thank you for the tip :) I'm going to try and find them in Amsterdam (a bit difficult now, since all the shops need to be closed for a month). It's been many years since I last worked with pastels - I really need to try them again, now that I see how beautiful the artwork can become. I really like how it looks like impressionist / expressionist painting styles (like the type of brushstrokes they use). And also, I always get lost in details when I try to make any type of artwork.. I think - for me - it would be good to eliminate the possibility of working in too much detail :) - As for Sakura, the pens I use are: - Sakura Pigma Micron (fine line pens. With 'archival ink' that lasts 100s of years. They cover over paint pretty well) - Sakura Koi (coloring brush pen) - Sakura Gelly Roll (i only have the white color) And the Sakura 'Pen-touch Calligrapher' pen (in black and also in white) I think most of my favorite pens are from Japanese companies, actually; Also use Pilot (parallel pen), Uni (Posca paint markers, + some artist pens), and Pentel (automatic pencils) :) By the way, Pentel has automatic pencil refills - 0,5mm - in red and blue color as well. They are very nice for light sketching. (You can use the red first for a light sketch, then define the sketch bit more with blue (that's a bit darker), and then use a regular graphite to really define the drawing. Works very well for me

@@iggysixx SoHo has iridescent and neon soft pastel sets. I may have been recalling the SoHo one when mentioning for Sakura... and Sennelier also has iridescent oil. Apologizing 🙃. I love the Pentel Fude brush, medium. I have the micron set and the white jelly, too. I use red lightly and other colors as needed in layout, too. I shy away from shiny base pencils if doing non oil pastel on papers like mi teintes.
