It's funny that Nakamura-san called out to fans for only liking gojo for his looks, but when you look at the 2nd cour anime opening, gojo is always shown in his best damn coolest looks. Nakamura-san, even Mappa love gojo's looks. There's nothing wrong with feasting our eyes upon beautiful people. Also, Nakamura-san is anti-gojo, but ever since I first read the manga, I could only think of him as gojo's possible VA. Then the anime came and voila, I was right.

Am I the only one who didn’t see this as the VA hating Gojo? I thought he was just making a point how, for anime-only watchers, they haven’t got to see really any of Gojo’s backstory or internal motivations yet, and mostly get excited about his character bc of how he looks. Which honestly is true; until s2, ppl who only watch the anime won’t actually get to know much about Gojo. I know in an interview with Nakamura, he said that part of why he doesn’t get Gojo’s hype is mostly bc he puts himself in the role he acts as, and doesn’t see Gojo thinking that highly of himself (which I thought was interesting-that implication that Gojo knows he’s powerful and acts cocky, but deep down might not actually like himself much)

i did get that impression too, but i do think he might not be giving fans enough credit. i didn't even start watching s2 or reading the manga until very recently, so just from s1 i could tell he was more complex than he seemed as a character. i really just had to think about it: what would it be like, being him? knowing that if some unfathomable horror comes out of space tomorrow, it's going to be you fighting it, probably alone? knowing that you cannot afford to die or even really get incapacitated for more than a few days doing so, because you are the strongest jujutsu sorcerer possibly to have ever existed, and quite probably the only thing keeping curses even slightly at bay considering the average amount of jujutsu students per year grade is 3. it sucks being alone at the top. and for that matter, he's not going to live forever. this line of work has a tendency towards short lifespans with grisly ends, i imagine. so even though he's not that good with kids and seems to struggle with how to explain things, he has no other choice if he wants to not risk leaving a power vacuum when he's gone. he does have standards, though. he refuses to take youth away from the young. when he tests them to make them grow, he's right there waiting to bail them out. sure, he can be annoying, but he's a good person. the looks are just a bonus.

Well, just for me. I like Satoru as a whole including his personality. This is coming from someone who didn't pay attention to him at first. I've always been a Nanami simp and I just became a Gojō simp when I rewatched the series. I always disliked MCs who are dramatic and can't realize their full potential unless he's trained, etc. I like how straightforward of a character Gojō is but at the same time complex.
