Congratulations!! What an incredible journey. I climbed Kilimanjaro on the Rongai Route in Feb 2019. I know exactly how draining and stressful but incredibly beautiful and life changing a week on Kili can be. My personal peak was 17,200 ft. I was fine for blood oxygen the whole week but on summit night tried to sit down and take a nap on the trail and got a little delirious, so my guides were like 'um no back down we go', but I watched the sun rise over Mawenzi and saw the clearest view of the Milky Way I have ever seen. Kili changes you for life. (It didn't help we had 40 mph winds the night I attempted to summit lol)

Thank you! I'm sorry to hear you didn't summit, but it sounds like you had a great experience overall! I don't know if I would have made it with 40mph winds, we were all so frozen already that sounds brutal.

@@mattofstie9298 It was an incredible experience! Wouldn't trade it for the world but perhaps would have changed the weather if I could have 😂 I'm not sorry I didn't summit, I did everything I needed to on that mountain and came away a stronger person.

Honestly I was tearing up as soon as I saw the sign at the summit. I think the exhaustion and lack of sleep made it way more emotional and that much more special to finally reach the top!

Thank you! The majority of our trek wasn't tooooo hard or exhausting, but summit night is tough. It's by far the most physically and mentally difficult part of the climb. It was a combination of lacking sleep, oxygen, being cold, and hiking in darkness that all made it so much harder!
